JAKARTA – Ahead of the direct election (Pemila) for the Chairperson of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) for the 2025–2028 period, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini’s name is increasingly attracting attention with her ambitious vision titled “Unity and Innovation.” This idea prioritizes ILUNI UI as a space for collaboration across generations of alumni, as well as a driving force for relevant breakthroughs to address the challenges of the times.
“The UI Alumni Association needs to be a unifying hub for alumni from diverse backgrounds, as well as an accelerator of impactful ideas and contributions. We need innovation, but we also need solidarity,” Dr. Dewi emphasized. She highlighted the importance of digitalizing services, organizational transparency, and strengthening the role of young alumni as the spearheads of transformation.
Support for Dr. Dewi came from various circles, including Professor Dr. Purnawan Junadi, MPH, Ph.D., a professor at the Faculty of Public Health at the University of Indonesia (FKM UI), who had mentored her during her studies. “Ms. Dewi is a brilliant student, actively holding various positions, and highly dedicated to serving. She now carries that determination into leading the ALUNI UI for the development and progress of all,” he said.
This vision gained momentum when the Indonesian Student Association (ALUNI) held an Idea Competition for Chairperson Candidates at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Auditorium. Seven candidates, including Dr. Dewi, presented ideas based on transformation, collaboration, and independence. ALUNI UI Chairperson, Didit Ratam, emphasized that this election is crucial for the organization’s direction.
“The leaders we elect today will determine the future of the UI Alumni Association for years to come. Let’s use our voting rights wisely for our shared progress,” he said.
The Secretary General of ILUNI UI, Ahmad Fitrianto, added that this forum tested the vision and operational strategies of the candidates, including strategic issues such as digital transformation, the development of the alumni creative economy, and the role of alumni in public policy and advocacy.
The Executive Chair, Yunadi Ramlan, reminded that the Final Voter List (DPT) will be determined on August 20, 2025. “Currently, 17,939 accounts have been validated. Alumni are urged to immediately confirm their verification status and be ready to e-vote on the UI Connect app,” he explained.
For Dr. Dewi, the ILUNI UI Election is not just an opportunity to elect a chairman, but also a momentum to rekindle the collective spirit of alumni. “All alumni must actively contribute to strengthening cross-generational solidarity and presenting ILUNI UI as a locomotive of change that is relevant, inclusive, and has a real impact on the nation,” she said.
This inclusive leadership vision has received a positive response. The Head of the FTUI Alumni Association (ILUNI), Didit Ratam, believes Dr. Dewi offers a new, unifying direction. “We are not simply selecting a leader, but building an inclusive and visionary organizational culture. It’s time for ILUNI UI to become a home of innovation,” he said.
Ahmad Fitrianto also hopes that whoever is elected can strengthen synergy with Himpuni and the government, so that ALUNI UI can make a real contribution at the national level.
The election for the Chairperson of the ALUNI UI for 2025–2028 will be held on August 23–24, 2025, via an e-vote system. With strong support and a vision of Unity and Innovation, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini is optimistic about leading ALUNI UI into a new, more solid, modern, and impactful chapter.
