The Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) pandemic is not yet certain when it will end, including in Indonesia. However, restrictions on social and economic activities are considered no longer effective for preventing Covid-19, because people must remain productive in order to survive.

For this reason, President Joko Widodo in his official speech at the Merdeka Palace, May 15, 2020, instructed the implementation of the New Normal or Adaptation of New Habits, replacing Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB).

The benefits of the Adaptation of New Habits began to be felt by all levels of society. A substitute for New Normal’s diction really resonates more with the minds of Indonesians, so that Indonesian people are more able to follow the way of life with the New Habit Adaptation method to build productivity and community optimism.

The Adaptation of New Habits is also a prevention strategy against the spread of the Covid-19 virus, by continuing to practice diligently washing hands using soap, ethics when coughing or sneezing, always diligently using masks when leaving the house, and avoiding direct contact.

In addition, also apply a healthy lifestyle by eating enough, nutritious and balanced food. Get enough rest as recommended by the doctor in order to produce a prime body so that it is able to fight disease through qualified antibodies. Diligent exercise is also one way to increase one’s endurance.

However, the most important of all is the willingness and awareness of the community to adapt / adjust to new habits wherever they are, such as at home, at work, at school, in places of worship, as well as in public places, such as terminals, markets and malls. . It is hoped that by implementing new habits in a disciplined manner, it will be easier and faster to break the chain of spreading Covid-19.

Thus, people can still work, study, worship and do other activities safely, healthily and productively. The adaptation to the new habit is wearing a mask, washing your hands frequently with soap, keeping your distance, getting enough rest, exercising diligently, eating nutritious and balanced food.

Community discipline individually and collectively in implementing the New Habit Adaptation and jointly rejecting and opposing hoax news about the New Habit Adaptation era is the key to the successful handling of Covid-19.
