When the pandemic has not ended and there are still many Indonesian citizens waiting to be vaccinated, the government takes various ways to suppress the spread of corona. From the beginning of 2021, the PSBB will be implemented twice. In addition, there is also a behavior change socialization program, so that people are aware of and still comply with health protocols.
The number of corona patients which continues to rise, to more than 6,000 people per day, certainly makes the community at risk. They certainly do not want to catch this disease and must be isolated in hospital for 2 weeks. But unfortunately, in the midst of a complicated situation, some are loose and lazy to wear masks, and are indifferent to traveling everywhere.
To overcome this so that the corona does not spread further, the DKI Jakarta regional government has again carried out mask raids at several busy points. If someone is caught not wearing a mask, they will be fined 250,000 rupiah or have to do social work.
Meanwhile, the central government is implementing PSBB again starting in early January 2021, for 2 weeks. The PSBB was carried out because the number of corona patients had risen dramatically, perhaps due to the euphoria of the year-end holidays, so that many people moved out of town. So that they are exposed to the corona while on the way.
The PSBB is re-enforced for the second time until early February 2021. In this limitation, community activities outside the home are strictly restricted. Minimarkets, restaurants and other crowded places can only operate until 8pm. Employees have to work from home for 75% of the work day’s share, and children continue to school from home.
In addition, there is a new program in dealing with corona, namely the socialization of behavior change. According to a spokesperson for the covid task force team, doctor Wiku Adisasmito, it is indeed not easy to change people’s behavior. But if you want to control the spread of corona, what will change is the behavior of many people. The goal is that they are disciplined in adhering to health protocols.
To monitor people’s behavior, the government has created a unified monitoring system against Covid-19 (BLC). So in crowded places such as malls and markets, there is tighter monitoring from the Satpol PP and the Covid handling task force team, so that the public keeps their distance. And must wear a mask in accordance with WHO standards.
Doctor Wiku continued, from 512 Cities / Regencies supervised by BLC, only 20.9% of the people wore masks. Meanwhile, the number of people who maintain their distance is only 16.9%. This is certainly very sad, because many people don’t want to get corona but are lazy to obey health protocols.
The government continues to remind people to comply with health protocols by sending SMS messages to wear masks when going out of the house. In addition, there is also a song called ‘remember your message’ which contains advice on following protocols, such as diligently washing your hands and keeping your distance. It is hoped that the community will find it easier to obey when they often listen to this song.
All efforts made by the government are made to prevent the spread of corona. Because even though the Sinovac vaccine has landed, at the first stage of injection, it is only given to health workers. Priority is given to health workers because they are more easily infected with corona at the hospital.
Remember the adage “it is better to prevent than to cure”. While waiting for our turn to be vaccinated, we still have to wear a 3-layer cloth mask, wash our hands diligently, bring hand sanitizers, and keep our distance. Improve body immunity by consuming nutritious foods and exercising diligently.
Programs made by the government are useless if people are lazy to obey them. Only with discipline and obedience in implementing health protocols can we all be free from corona attacks. Refrain and do not travel out of town if there is no urgent need.
