Rizieq Shihab has visited Polda Metro Jaya and is currently detained. Nevertheless, the public is also urged to be aware of the provocations of Rizieq Shihab’s supporters who do not accept the law enforcement.

The police officially detained FPI leader Muhammad Rizieq Shihab as a suspect in violating the health protocol. As is known by the public, his figure is known as a religious leader with a mass. But unfortunately his popularity is used for negative things, because his lectures contain hate speech and harsh words. As a religious leader and mass organization leader, he should be ashamed and filter what is said, whether on stage or not.

His speech containing hate speech made Rizieq hit by a new case. Because he was caught in Article 60 of the Criminal Code regarding hate speech. Whereas previously he also violated the law on quarantine, because he was desperate to hold a party attended by 10,000 people at his house, in the Petamburan area.

The police then summoned Rizieq to be accountable for his actions. If he has failed to fulfill the summons of Polda Metro Jaya twice, this time the police will act more firmly. Inevitably he had to come, and there was no excuse that he was sick, tired, or had other needs.

After receiving a warning from the police, Rizieq Shihab finally came to Polda Metro Jaya on December 12, 2020, at around 10.30. After undergoing an examination for 10 hours, Rizieq was immediately detained at the Polda Metro.

The police said that Rizieq Shihab had turned himself in for fear of being arrested after he was named a suspect. Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol, Yusri Yunus, said that he had never summoned a suspect but would arrest MRS so he was afraid and gave up until he came to the police to surrender.

This time, Rizieq’s arrival at Polda Metro was not accompanied by the crowd. This is cause for concern because FPI members are very loyal and have a habit of guarding Rizieq. When they accompanied Habib Rizieq, it was feared that there would be a crowd and eventually violated health protocols.

The public is also urged to be aware of the provocations of Rizieq Shihab’s supporters, especially on social media. There were indications that Rizieq’s supporters were dissatisfied with the police’s law enforcement efforts. Through Instant messaging applications such as Telegram, Rizieq’s group continues to build a narrative of dissatisfaction with the legal decision. Even on the mountain wind telegram channel, Rizieq’s group slandered the Police for obscuring the issue of the death of 6 FPI members.

The provocation of Rizieq’s supporters on social media should be anticipated and countered because it can cause hatred and mass mobilization during the pandemic. Rizieq’s supporters must also know themselves because the threat of Covid-19 is real and not selective. Do they not love their lives, just because they accompany Rizieq to Polda Metro Jaya?

In fact, there have been 80 victims who have tested positive for corona, after they attended an event attended by Rizieq. Even Rizieq himself was also rumored to be infected with the covid-19 virus. The proof is the results of swab tests that were spread in cyberspace, which showed that he was reactive to the corona. The doctor who handled Rizieq also fell down because of this disease.

From this evidence, do the supporters still want to come forward to guard it? If the answer is yes, then they are like going into a lion’s hole. Because they are willing to accompany people who are clearly at fault and have the potential to transmit corona. They should use common sense and don’t love death, even if they are religious leaders.

Do not let there be a new corona cluster after Rizieq is detained by the police. Supporters hope to refrain from coming to the police station, because it is still a pandemic era. Besides that, the legal process cannot be interfered with. So it’s useless if they come and end up exhausted, because they will be kicked out firmly.
