The G20 Summit which will be held in Bali, Indonesia, will bring many benefits. In addition to being a free promotion about the exoticism of this country, the Summit can also accelerate economic recovery affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Indonesia received a great honor when appointed as the G20 presidency in 2022, because this is the first time a developing country has been trusted to host. This trust is paid for with very thorough preparation of the event, starting from the preparation of infrastructure, health protocols (because it is still a pandemic), bubble system, 5G internet network, etc.

In this year’s G20 Summit, the main theme is: recover together, recover stronger, and the recovery includes the economic sector. The reason is because the pandemic occurs globally, so that the economic collapse has also occurred in many other countries in the world. The G20 Summit is indeed an event to discuss how to survive in the midst of a pandemic.

Before the summit started in Bali, it had already begun with the Finance track meeting in Jakarta, which was a meeting in the areas of fiscal, monetary, taxation, and finance. So that there will be sharing and discussion on financial matters, and each country can evaluate how to overcome their financial problems, then imitate the steps that have been taken by the Indonesian government.

After the finance track meeting, there will be several agreements, especially in the investment sector. The members of the G20 will certainly be interested in investing in Indonesia because they see for themselves that here is very potential for investment, because it has abundant natural resources, potential human resources, and supporting infrastructure.

In addition, there will be economic recovery because when the guests of the G20 delegation arrive, it will increase the country’s foreign exchange. Just imagine, there are 20 member countries of the G20 and they also bring their staff, so the guests can be more than 100 people. They certainly need adequate transportation, so that it will increase car and bus rental orders to transportation entrepreneurs.

Hotel entrepreneurs were also splashed with sustenance because the G20 delegates also needed a place to stay that was not only exclusive, but also hygienic and adhered to health protocols. They will feel safe because in the hotel everyone wears masks and reduces the crowd, because there is a maximum capacity reduction (only 50%). The goal is not only for comfort, but also for safety, because it minimizes the transmission of the corona virus.

The health protocol is indeed very well maintained so that the G20 Summit is a success and that is also an advantage for catering entrepreneurs. They received orders for various dishes for delegates from G20 member countries, which were not only delicious but also nutritious and hygienic. During a pandemic, of course, there are adjustments, for example, during coffee break sessions, it is maintained so as not to cause a crowd.

To reduce crowds, a bubble system was created which proved to be successfully applied during the XX Papua PON and races at the Mandalika circuit, NTB. With the bubble system, the movement of the G20 delegates is limited to certain points and their meetings are made in a small group system. If forced, a hybrid system will be created, aka 50% online and the rest offline.

In addition, to support the bubble system, there must be a daily swab test for each G20 member delegation. This is to minimize the spread of the corona virus. If there is a swab test, then the businessmen who have a laboratory will be the lucky ones, because they can send their health workers to test the delegates.

The G20 Summit is truly a blessing for Indonesia, because it is not only a free promotion for tourism and investment, but also provides benefits for entrepreneurs. Those who work in the culinary, transportation, and hospitality fields, will receive orders from the committee to entertain the G20 delegates.
