G20 Summit Attracts Investment to Indonesia

362

The implementation of the G20 Summit in Indonesia will bring many positive impacts. One of these benefits is the potential entry of various investments into Indonesia that can revive the economy affected by Covid-19.

The pandemic that has lasted for two years has brought a global crisis and Indonesia is trying hard so that the country’s finances are not swayed by it. To solve this problem, the quickest way is to open the investment faucets. Later, capital from foreign investors can be used to develop the country, and there will be cooperation with a symbiotic mutualism system.

One way to attract investors is to invite them to Indonesia, then with their own eyes they will see how developed our country is. So it will be considered able to be used as a place of investment. The holding of the G20 Summit in Indonesia also brings positive winds because it can attract foreign investors.

Indonesia plans to target 200-250 trillion rupiah of investment when the G20 Summit is held, next November. Detailed plans and targets are still being made so that they will be executed perfectly and will be 100% successful.

Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia stated that the focus of investment being pursued by Indonesia was those who wanted to do downstreaming in the country. Some of the sectors that will be focused on are tourism, plantations, coal, and nickel. Mining products in Indonesia can be processed and exported, and investors will be happy to invest because the price of coal and nickel is always rising.

In a sense, the tourism sector is the flagship to be ‘sold’ to investors. Moreover, Indonesia has many areas that have natural exoticism, and will be even more beautiful if touched by the hands of investors. For example, the rivers in Kalimantan can be processed into clean and romantic tourism, or a zoo can be created that introduces the diversity of animals in this country.

At the G20 Summit representatives from member countries will come and see firsthand the natural beauty of this country, then they will agree to invest in the tourism sector. The investment agreement will run smoothly because there is already great trust in each country.

Minister Bahlil continued, projects that can be sold to investors are new and renewable energy, namely the manufacture of battery cells for electric cars. According to him, only Indonesia has an integrated battery cell industry. This industry has a very good future because many countries in the world are promoting emission-free and energy-efficient vehicles such as electric cars.

Later, the battery cells can be sold to countries that make electric cars such as the United States, China, Japan, and South Korea. So the market already exists and the prospects are good, and it will be sustainable because this industry is very futuristic. Moreover, Tesla cars that use electric power are considered items that the crazy rich must buy and they are willing to redeem it at any price.

It is hoped that the G20 Summit will become a bridge between Indonesian businessmen, the government, and investors from the G20 members. They will see for themselves that this country is a very good place to invest, because there are many strategic locations, with abundant natural resources, and experienced human resources.

The G20 Summit which will be held in Bali will not only be a forum to discuss the big theme: recover together, recover stronger. However, the Summit can also be an event to show off and show that Indonesia can be a very appropriate place to invest. Later the G20 member countries are interested in investing because it will be profitable.
