Indonesia has proven its ability to provide a comprehensive branding at the Dubai Expo 2020. In this event, foreign investors are immediately interested in investing in order to fully support the sustainability of the State Capital (IKN) project.
This event has been successful in attracting foreign investors to invest in Indonesia. Indonesia has obtained investment commitments with a value of 32.7 billion USD from Middle Eastern entrepreneurs. Indonesia’s opportunity is not impossible, it is still very wide open to be able to get various other attractive offers from foreign investors regarding strategic projects that will be implemented or currently underway.
The Dubai Expo itself has been held for 6 months, starting from October 2021 and ending on March 31, 2022 and of course being held directly from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The interesting thing that should also be known is that the impression of Indonesia in the event which was held for 6 months was very good and interesting.
The Director General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag), Didi Sumedi said that our country’s branding in the event was quite comprehensive. This comprehensive assessment itself is certainly not without reason, because Indonesia at the Dubai Expo 2020 is not just trying to introduce its product branding in the international arena.
In Dubai Expo 2020, it is not just a product introduction, but Indonesia is also able to offer the establishment of a trade cooperation and various kinds of investment opportunities in various sectors. One sector that has attracted a lot of interest from investors is national strategic projects such as the construction of the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago.
Of course, not only IKN, Indonesia has also done a lot of branding in terms of our tourism. So far, it is undeniable that the country has always had its own tourist attraction, especially with its natural wealth, which is famous for its beauty, like Bali. In addition, various kinds of innovations and technology also do not escape to be promoted by Indonesia in the event.
As the impression of comprehensive branding was carried out by Indonesia and in fact succeeded in attracting the attention of Middle Eastern authorities to invest their capital and make an investment of USD 32.7 billion, it turns out that this price will also enter various other sectors, not just IKN. Although the main targets that have successfully attracted their attention are national strategic projects, they have invested in many sectors. Some of these sectors include trade, transportation, logistics sector to tourism.
Especially regarding the National Capital City development project (IKN) itself, even by the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) they specifically bring directly various kinds of benefits of IKN so that investors are interested in making their investment.
In the future, IKN will indeed become the center of economic transformation in Indonesia. The economic transformation carried out will certainly support Indonesia’s vision in 2045 to welcome 100 years of independence. Therefore, the Public Private Partnership (PPP) scheme will be very appropriate to do in the Dubai Expo event.
So far, the efforts that have been made by the Government and its optimism deserve very high appreciation. The reason is that the data shows that at a macro level, our economic condition can be said to be stable again and shows that we have succeeded in handling the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, all of these successes cannot be separated from the success of the infrastructure projects that have been carried out so far.
