The MotoGP event in Indonesia will empower Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. It is recorded that more than 1,500 MSME products will be present at the MotoGP event on March 18-20 2022 in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara.

The government continues to encourage the rise of leading MSMEs, including in the MotoGP event. The Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs (MenkopUKM) Teten Masduki said the leading MSMEs came from 14 provinces within the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit. The Mandalika MotoGP pre-event event consisted of an exhibition of 60 automotive SMEs and 40 travel SMEs, as well as a coaching clinic safety riding by IMI (Indonesian Motor Association), freestyle attractions, the release of Team Riders Goes to Mandalika.

The products that will be displayed are automotive category products, merchandise, souvenirs, healthy products, and food and beverages. In addition, over time the automotive industry continues to improve and is able to improve other sectors, one of which is through MSMEs.

Teten said that MSMEs are a supporting sector for the automotive industry, namely as suppliers of vehicle parts or components, so MSMEs must participate in the growth of this industry.

Previously, in 2021 the automotive industry also experienced an increase of 17.82 percent, and absorbed around 1.5 million workers along the industrial value chain. This shows that the demand for the automotive market is still high. Teten hopes that the MotoGP event, which is an international agenda, should be utilized as well as possible by all MSME actors as a means of promotion.

Indonesian MSMEs must be able to show their potential in the international arena. By having quality, competitiveness and being able to penetrate into national and global chains. On a different occasion, the Government of Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara stated that as many as 240 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) were declared to have passed curation to sell in MotoGP activities at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, Lombok.

Meanwhile, of the hundreds of MSME products that participated in the curation, 375 Central Lombok MSME products could be marketed in the world-class motorcycle racing event. This means that one MSME actor has more than one product to be displayed at the Mandalika MotoGP stand.

To encourage the growth of MSME players, the local government has prepared a stand or location for MSME players at the MotoGP event on March 18-20 for free.

Of the hundreds of MSME products that have passed the curation, the dominant product is in the culinary sector, because all the spectators who come certainly need more food and drinks. The number of MSME products in this MotoGP event is more when compared to last year’s WSBK event, which was 200 products.

Central Lombok Regency has also become the center of attention with the existence of the MotoGP Circuit in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) which will be the venue for the MotoGP. For this reason, the local government has prepared everything needed for the community to become an active part in developing this area.

One of the most concrete things to do is to involve SMEs and SMEs to take part in the upcoming MotoGP event. Meanwhile, to support the expansion of the MSME product market at the Mandalika MotoGP and make it easier to introduce MSME products, the KemenkopUKM launched a catalog that will provide information about the types, product prices, contacts, social media and marketplaces of leading SMEs.

The catalog will be equipped with a QR Code that will make it easier for potential buyers to access information about the products on display. Later, the QR Code will also be provided in the form of standing banners and stickers at several locations, including Bangsal Harbor, Former Selaparang Airport, Sengkareang Park, Islamic Center, Gili Mas Harbor, BIZAM Airport, Ex International BLK, Mandalika Hospital, East Parking, West Parking , Kuta Beach Mandalika, Senggigi Market, STIP-BRIDA, as well as locations within the circuit. In addition, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will also prepare 300 SMEs in the form of a planogram at BIZAM Airport and 10 food trucks at Beach Parak Mandalika.

The MotoGP event in Indonesia, of course, will not only increase Indonesia’s progress in the field of sports, but also empower MSME business actors to display their products at this international event.
