One more step, the work copyright omnibus law bill will be formalized into law. The public welcomes it, because this bill will solve the large number of unemployed people in Indonesia. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, because the number of people who lost their jobs increased. They can work again thanks to the Omnibus Law.

The Covid-19 pandemic had a huge impact on the Indonesian economy and as a result the company experienced a slight setback. Finally, there are workers who must be willing to be laid off. They are confused because they need money to survive and finding a new job is also difficult. However, now this situation can be changed since the Omnibus Law Job Creation Bill was issued.

The Work Creation Omnibus Law Bill will simplify labor regulations so that the bureaucracy is better and does not overlap. In article 42 of this bill, individual employers are prohibited from employing foreign workers. So Indonesian citizens are optimistic that they will quickly get a job, because foreign workers are prohibited from filling employee slots.

Meanwhile, Article 3 of the Work Creation Omnibus Law Bill states that the purpose of this bill is to evenly open employment opportunities throughout Indonesia. So far, there have been more vacancies on the island of Java, especially Jakarta. However, after this bill becomes law, there will be more job vacancies in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Nusa Tenggara, and even Papua.

Where do the job vacancies come from? This is related to other government programs, namely national economic recovery. Many projects that were stopped at the start of the pandemic will be resumed. Project locations are scattered throughout Indonesia and of course they need new employees. This is an opportunity to leave unemployed status.

The Draft Omnibus Law also provides opportunities for many foreign investors to enter Indonesia. This is because investment regulations have been made easier and bureaucratic regulations have been launched, which have become a stimulus for them to construct new buildings and projects. This project definitely needs workers and unemployed people to apply there.

The number of foreign investors has also increased, especially from the Middle East region, because the Omnibus Law Bill also regulates the rules for product halal fatwa issued not only by MUI, but also mass organizations that are legal entities. Investors are convinced that the government is serious about managing halal goods and they are willing to invest.

Sandiaga Uno, a businessman as well as a former deputy governor of DKI Jakarta, also supports the Omnibus Law Bill so that it will soon be passed into law. He reasoned that this bill encourages investment and with conducive investment it will move the business world. So it will indirectly increase the nation’s economy. Business people will develop.

Indeed, the Omnibus Law Bill also benefits entrepreneurs, especially MSMEs. Owners of micro, small and medium enterprises will be facilitated in obtaining legal business licenses. So that it can expand its business, even to foreign countries. Because to export goods, of course there must be an official business license from the government.

If the UMKM business actors can develop their business, it will automatically need additional employees. This can absorb a lot of workforce as well as reduce unemployment. It is not surprising that the Draft Omnibus Law is highly supported by businessmen, workers and job seekers because its articles always benefit them.

The Omnibus law Draft Law must indeed be promulgated into a Law because it benefits people affected by Covid-19. Those who lose their jobs can become employees again because of new vacancies, thanks to investment projects. Because this bill regulates the ease of investment, both local and foreign, in Indonesia.
