The desire of Metro Jaya Police Chief Irjen Mochamad Iriawan to place one member in every polling station (TPS) finally materialized. In the first round, Iriawan proposed it but was rejected by the Chairman of KPU DKI Sumarno because there was no urgency. Then why in the second round of security is getting tighter?
In Jakarta KPU Office, Wednesday (29/3/2017) Iriawan said that because the results of reports from the first round there are (intimidation). All the paslon (candidate pairs) reported to us that there was a sense of intimidation, so we took the step of one TPS guarded by one policeman and one TNI.
Iriawan said, intimidation occurred in various polling stations in West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta. It prepares 21,000 members to alert and patrol at 13,032 polling stations.
Iriawan also mentioned about the discourse of “Sightseeing Al-Maidah” which invites the masses from outside Jakarta to come to the polling station during voting on April 19, 2017. Iriawan ensures that his party is able to do security with the TNI, Satpol PP and Linmas.
Election organizers and Panwas will also be on site to prevent fraud.
Iriawan said we told the audience, Sightseeing Al-Maidah do not have to do. Where to go? We are governed by the Law to maintain order. We keep everyone’s comfort, two or three.
A provocative banner
He said that measures to prevent intimidation were also made before the election. One way is to curb provocative banners tribal, religious, racial, and intergroup (SARA).
Bawaslu DKI with police and Satpol PP have at least reduced 1,230 campaign banners and provocative pitched. Iriawan asked the people to lower the banners. If still scattered, he promised to penalize the installers.
At the Jakarta KPU office, Wednesday, Iriawan said that this is the last warning, if it still exists, I will use the law regulating the SARA.
Iriawan said that his party had pocketed several names suspected of actively installing provocative banners in various corners of Jakarta. Iriawan reluctant to divulge the parties in question.
On the other hand, the police themselves installed hundreds of counter banners which read, “Do not be easily provoked, let’s create a safe and conducive situation”.
Iriawan also said that we warned first. Wakapolda already hold the data of his names and Krimum, because baseball is difficult to unload where it is and who spread it, we know all the people,
For the sake of the success of elections, let us keep the order and security of Jakarta in particular, and generally the State of Indonesia. Do not be easily provoked by irresponsible people and choose the candidate according to the conscience. So to the second round election of DKI, the situation is safe and under control.
