The community supports law enforcement against the former leader of a banned mass organization, Munarman, who was caught provoking many people to support ISIS. With this decisive action, it is hoped that it will reduce the spread of radicalism in Indonesia.

Indonesia is a democratic country and cannot be replaced by other ideologies, such as socialism, communism, radicalism, or terrorism. Democracy is the most suitable for the condition of society in this pluralistic country. But unfortunately in recent times radicalism and terrorism have penetrated the community and influenced them to want to support it.

One of the banned radical mass organizations was dissolved by the government 2 years ago and its permit was not extended. However, former members still exist and spread poison so that he and his group are supported by the community, so they must be wary of. Don’t let terrorism destroy Indonesia and turn it into a battlefield.

During the trial at the East Jakarta District Court, on December 8, 2021, a former elite mass organization was accused of spreading radicalism by inviting many people to support ISIS. Munarman is clearly guilty because ISIS is an international terrorist organization, so it should not be entrenched in Indonesia.

The invitation to support ISIS was made by M at a public campus in North Sumatra, when he was attending a seminar. During the event which was attended by 100 people, Munarman shouted that there is no law in Indonesia that prohibits its people from supporting ISIS, and he invited everyone to join pro ISIS. All seminar participants nodded and agreed.

Munarman’s actions are clearly wrong because ISIS should not be supported in Indonesia, because they are a terrorist organization. How can he invite many people to be pro-terrorism, while that understanding always uses violence to get the wishes of its leaders? Not infrequently terrorists spread bombs under the pretext of jihad, even though the targets are fellow Indonesian citizens.

The community supports law enforcement against the elite of banned mass organizations because he has repeatedly been a provocateur, and the threat of punishment is up to 15 years in prison. The punishment is as severe as this because he did it not only during seminars, but also at other events. Does he not want to see Indonesia at peace so that it is always playing against each other and spreading terrorism and radicalism? So sad.

The threat of a sentence of 15 years in prison is expected to prevent the elite of mass organizations from repeating their actions. Do not spread poison and fear in Indonesia, because he should have a fairly good social strata should set an example. Instead, they use it to promote ISIS, terrorism, and radicalism.

Former elite mass organizations should not be playing the victim on the grounds that Indonesia adheres to a free and active political ideology. We are free, but we must obey the rules. There is already a terrorism law and there is no excuse for freedom to support radicalism and terrorism, because it can undermine the state. Do you want this country to be a place of war like in Syria and Afghanistan?

Even if you don’t agree with democracy in Indonesia, please just go to ISIS headquarters abroad. As an Indonesian citizen, of course, you must obey the rules in Indonesia, and don’t go around on your own and twist the articles in the law. No citizen is above the law and he must be prepared to accept the consequences.

Punishment awaits for Munarman, the elite of a banned mass organization, because he was proven to have incited many people to pro-ISIS. Do not let Munarman be released and return to being a provocateur again at another event, so that it must be strictly legalized. The community supports law enforcement against him so that he really gives up.
