The Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) is a mass organization that is often identified with acts of violence. In fact, they often equip themselves with sharp weapons. Even though it often uses religious attributes, the community has hard to forget traces of FPI violence.

FPI is an anarchist group that often commits violence under the pretext of religion. The actions they did still make an impression, such as sweeping the restaurant during the day during Ramadan . Their leader Habib Rizieq Shihab also often said sentences that were far from shady.

In March 2019, 11 members of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) were named as suspects because they were alleged to have committed acts of incitement and provoked chaos during the commemoration of the 93rd anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) at Srimersing Field , Tebing Tinggi City, Sumatra. North.

The perpetrators had to be secured because they were desperate to dismiss the Harlah NU event despite being warned by security officers. The rioting at Srimersing Field occurred at 11.40 a.m.

For their provocative actions, the suspects were charged under article 160 subsidiary 175 in conjunction with articles 55 and 56 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a six-year prison sentence.

Previously, the late KH Abdurahman Wahid (Gus Dur) had expressed his frustration with the police, who seemed to have silenced various acts of violence committed by the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI).

At that time, Gus Dur was annoyed when he heard reports that at least 12 people from the Nationality and Religious Freedom Alliance (AKKBB) were injured when they were attacked by dozens of people wearing FPI attributes at the Jakarta National Monument (Monas).

FPI is also a mass organization that tends to be intolerant, this was proven when the Huria Kristen Batak Protestant Church (HKBP) Filadelfia one morning on Sunday in 2012. Who would have thought, her intention to worship had ended in disaster, when suddenly dozens of people in white robes with the FPI label had filled the grounds of the Church. They blocked the congregation who wanted to worship.

Pastor Palti, as the worship leader, admitted that it was not uncommon for the congregation to receive rotten eggs and sewage on the way to the church. Even when praying, the FPI group also held a demonstration with loudspeakers to disturb the congregation who were praying.

Palti also asked President Jo Kowi, so that people in Indonesia can freely worship according to their respective religions and beliefs.

The attack also occurred at the Ahmadiyah organization, where FPI sympathizers banged on the table while distributing KTPs to Ahmadiyah members.

An Ahmadiyah congregation Nurhalim said that FPI should be able to show a change in attitude. Apart from that , he also said that the government needs to take a firm stand if FPI commits an act that violates the law. So far, not a da sanctions or measures which means that if there is an unlawful act yng FPI.

They also did not hesitate to attack the discotheque. It was recorded that in March 2002, an FPI mass truck came to the discotheque at the Hayam Wuruk Plaza. 300 FPI mobs damaged an entertainment venue on Jalan Satrio Karet Jakarta.

In the same year, dozens of FPI members also came to a discotheque in Ciputat and demanded that the discotheque close its activities .

Their destruction of the entertainment venue was even cited as an act of “order” due to business competition.

In August 2003, FPI Purwakarta Regency Leadership Council asked the manager of a kindergarten to stop and simultaneously manage a kindergarten to stop the service and demolish the building. If not, FPI threatened to stop and forcibly demolish the building.

This action further emphasizes that in addition to often triggering acts of violence, FPI is also a mass organization that is intolerant of various freedoms in compassion .

This was reinforced by the expulsion of KH Abdurahman Wahid from the inter-ethnic and religious dialogue forum in Purwakarta in 2006.

Meanwhile, in 2007, FPI also damaged the gathering place for the Waldiyah era because it was considered heretical.

Of course, this group of actions has become a track record which makes the excuse that FPI has carried out more of its Mudharat actions .

So that the dissolution of this mass organization of course has a clear basis, that this organization is an organization that likes to trigger acts of intolerance and violence.
