Wamena Conducive, Refugees Can Return Home

Opinions about the conducive situation of Wamena were also expressed by TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto. He emphasized that the area was safe and controlled. According to him, of the 3,800 refugees in Wamena, some are still in the TNI headquarters, namely the Koramil and also the Kodim. He has also deployed troops to guard conflict-prone areas. He hopes that with these efforts, it will be able to improve security there.

Hadi said that if the TNI deployed forces in order to support the Indonesian National Police in several areas including Jayapura and Wamena. The aim is to give trust to residents in Wamena. This proves that security stability will continue to be maintained, including the economy in Wamena can run normally again.

Similar rights were expressed by the Commander of the 20th Infantry Brigade of Ima Jaya Keramo / Division 3 Kostrad Colonel Inf Charles Sagala. He stated that the security situation and public order in Wamena as well as Ilaga, Papua, were gradually conducive. The statements were also guaranteed by the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police, Kombes Pol AM Kamal. He also stated that the Wamena community had returned to normal activities. He sincerely hopes that there will be no more provocative actions that lead to anarchistic actions in the Wamena region.

In addition, he also appealed to citizens not to immediately believe in hoaxes whose truth cannot be accounted for. Meanwhile, joint forces not only protect the economy and public activities, they also provide security to several vital objects in the Wamena region. He also stated that the demonstration in Wamena, Papua that ended in this riot was suspected by the statement of racism. So that it triggers emotions and causes chaos.

Furthermore, hopes and prayers are again being said, so that our brothers and sisters in the earth of Paradise, especially in Wamena will soon be 100 percent safe and in control. The rioters can immediately be arrested and tried, so that there will be no more similar cases which are considered to be detrimental to residents. The most important thing is to maintain unity and integrity, so that individuals who want to divide the Unitary Republic of Indonesia will fail to do so.
