Beware of Attempts to Divide Through Provocative Actions of Dark Indonesia
President Prabowo Subianto expressed his surprise at the emergence of the narrative of ‘Dark Indonesia’ which has recently become the public spotlight
He said that this kind of propaganda should be watched out for because it has the potential to divide the nation.
“I am also confused by those who say that Indonesia is in darkness. If they feel that way, that is their right. But every time I open my eyes in the morning, what I see is actually Indonesia that is bright and full of hope,” said Prabowo.
He reminded that in propaganda techniques, lies that are repeated can seem true.
“It’s in the book, “The Art of Propaganda”. All countries study it, and it is often done to destabilize a country that is not liked by other countries,” he said.
However, Prabowo emphasized that he still respects different views.
“Brothers and sisters, I will not forbid anyone who wants to see everything from the dark side. If there are those who choose to continue to see the darkness, please go ahead,” he said.
In his speech, Prabowo also expressed his optimism about the current condition of Indonesia, especially in the agricultural sector.
“When I meet farmers, farmers are happy. Food prices, their yields have increased drastically, production has increased drastically,” he said.
He added that this success was partly supported by the government’s policy of cutting fertilizer distribution regulations. According to him, this has had a direct impact on farmers’ welfare.
Regarding the rampant issue of ‘Dark Indonesia’ and the call to ‘run away first’, Prabowo expressed his desire to have a direct dialogue with the parties who raised the issue.
“I also want a dialogue. I want to meet with anyone. Let’s discuss it, right? Maybe it doesn’t have to be public. Figures who are dark Indonesia,” he said.
He also touched on the challenges of the global economy, especially after the United States imposed reciprocal tariffs on a number of countries, including Indonesia. However, Prabowo emphasized that this nation has gone through difficult times several times.
“Yes, we face it. And we can overcome it. But the key is if there is harmony,” he said.
Prabowo closed with an optimistic statement.
“I am confident in the future, and I am honored to be the President of the Republic of Indonesia. We will control and manage all the wealth of this nation for the benefit of the people to the maximum,” he concluded.
