Jakarta – Dozens of members of the Young Generation of the Communication Forum for Sons and Daughters of Retired TNI/Polri (GM FKPPI) of Malang Regency, delivered a statement regarding the revised TNI Law that has been ratified by the Indonesian House of Representatives.

The Head of GM FKPPI Malang Regency, Idhinningrum, said that his party fully supports the changes to the TNI Law and will be at the forefront of supporting various TNI activities for the sake of the Republic of Indonesia.

“Here, we all declare our full support (for the Revision of the TNI Law), and will be at the forefront of supporting TNI activities for the sake of the Republic of Indonesia. GM FKPPI is Solid, Strong, Militant!,” said Idhinningrum.

Idhinningrum also said that GM FKPPI invites all parties to maintain unity, and not be easily provoked by provocative issues that can harm and divide the nation’s children.

“We fully support the revision of the TNI Law. Don’t be anarchic. Let’s unite together for our country, maintaining the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia. Once again, GM FKPPI supports, and is ready to be at the forefront to maintain the unity of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.

In Pamekasan, the Pamekasan Community Movement (LSM GEMPA) also supports the ratification of the revision of the TNI Law.

Through its poster, LSM GEMPA gave its support and rejected all forms of provocative actions and incitement that oppose the TNI Law.

“We support the TNI Law, Oppose provocative actions and incitement, the people of Pamekasan City support the ratification of the TNI Law for the sake of upholding the Republic of Indonesia, the TNI Law is not the Dual Function of ABRI, TNI with the People, Oppose provocative actions and incitement,” wrote LSM GEMPA in its poster.

On a different occasion, Former Prabowo-Gibran TKN Member, David Herson, said that the revision of the TNI Law did not indicate opening up opportunities as had been spread in hoax news, which led to opinions about the dual function of the TNI in civil positions.

On the contrary, he continued, the revision of the TNI Law clarified the limits to which the TNI could occupy public positions.

“Now there is a reaffirmation that TNI members who want to enter civil positions must resign or take early retirement,” said David.

He even regretted the circulation of provocative narratives related to the revision of the TNI Law which caused division among the public.

“It is very unfortunate that there is a narrative of division and incitement between the apparatus and civilians which is being fried and ridden by several people, without the public really understanding the points of the TNI Bill that was passed,” he concluded.
