The deputy chairman of the MUI emphasized that to maintain harmony between religious communities, we need to work together and work together to create an attitude of tolerance and become one people above diversity and Pancasila.

“The important thing in maintaining harmony is a united attitude. Whoever has agreed to build the country together and unite so that we are comfortable together, then all will become one ummah, one nation,” said Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Dr. KH. Marsudi Syuhud.

Christmas and New Year are moments of Indonesian togetherness. In this momentum, the government will continue to appeal to the importance of mutual respect and tolerance to maintain national and state order.

In maintaining this moment so that it takes place without interference from Kamtibmas, MUI plays a role in inviting kyai, ustad, both from the center and the village to always be present with the community.

“Today we respect the Christmas celebration as neighbors who also need to respect each other so that we can live comfortably together,” said the deputy chairman of the MUI.

Dr. KH. Marsudi Syuhud also explained that every year the banser will participate in helping to maintain and secure the Christmas and New Year celebrations. Nevertheless, he said that the banser’s involvement was to keep each other together.

“Banser’s involvement in taking care of Christmas is not because of an unsafe situation. But it is a representation because we live together, so we are comfortable together,” added Marsudi Syuhud.

In this case, it is hoped that the community can create conditions of mutual respect. When we can respect religious people and between religious people then that’s where it’s created
