Bank Indonesia Governor Agus Martowardojo said that he was not too worried about the prediction of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that said Indonesia’s economy would only grow by 5 percent.

He also said the IMF prediction is far below the prediction set by Bank of Indonesia and the government.

“It’s quite common if their prediction is lower than our prediction,” said Agus.

So far, Agus said that Bank Indonesia has a projection of economy growth by 5.4 to 5.8 percent, while the government has set a target of 5.7 percent in the revised 2015 State Budget.

“And I think, we can reach the target,” Agus added.

Agus went to say that there must be extra efforts to reach economic growth as targeted. He also gave his support for the structural reforms being implemented by President Joko Widodo’s administration.
