Jayapura Officially Owns PYCH Building, Head of BIN: Papuan Young Generation Able to Create Technological Innovations

Jakarta – Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), General Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan said that Papua has very high potential, even being able to create technology and various technological innovations.

He expressed this in appreciating the development of digital information technology innovations, namely smartphones and laptops with the TOP.ID brand made by young Papuans who are members of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH).

“Appreciation is given to TOP.ID’s gadget (gadget) products, this can provide inspiration for young people in Papua and other regions in Indonesia that we are capable of being empowered and creating sophisticated technology and innovation,” said the Head of BIN.

It should be noted that TOP.ID has also launched four other applications such as Papua Pacific Park, Clean Trash-Container, Village Assistant Application and Papua Talent Management (Mantap).

Furthermore, General Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan also said that the building must become a symbol of development in Papua and even be able to make young Papuans become agents of change.

“Moreover, PYCH members have reached 12,800 people and the number will continue to increase, because PYCH turns Papuan children into agents of change,” he said.

The Head of BIN hopes that many other new ideas and innovations will emerge in many areas such as Aceh, West Papua, Maluku to NTT to build a Youth Creative Hub.

He added that the inauguration of the PYCH building was aimed at empowering young Papuan talents and at the same time being an economic driver.

Previously, President Jokowi in his remarks at the inauguration of the PYCH building stated that Papua was indeed a development priority by the Government of Indonesia.

He emphasized that currently the government’s development paradigm is not Java-centric, but Indonesia-centric.

“I convey that Indonesia’s development now is not Java-centric, but Indonesia-centric, and the Land of Papua is a priority for our development,” said Jokowi.

With the inauguration of the PYCH building directly by President Jokowi on Tuesday (21/3), of course the building is able to provide opportunities for young Papuans.

For information, the PYCH building is designed like a traditional Papuan house, namely in the form of a Honai and Kariwari roof. PYCH was built with funds of up to IDR 105 billion on an area of ​​1.5 hectares and has been equipped with various facilities.
