Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto confirmed his commitment to continue the development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN). This was conveyed by the Spokesperson for the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), Dedek Prayudi.

“President Prabowo’s commitment to the IKN is as strong as President Jokowi’s commitment,” said Dedek.

He also explained that the funding for the development of the IKN does not fully rely on the APBN.
“The development of the IKN, which initially fully used the APBN, slowly the proportion does need to be reduced,” he added.

Dedek, who is familiarly called Uki, assessed that investors, both domestic and foreign, have seen the government’s seriousness in realizing the IKN project even though it has not been much publicized.

Uki also denied the issue of eliminating the national strategic project (PSN) which began in the era of President Joko Widodo. He explained that Prabowo replaced it with the best fast priority results program (PHTC), which consists of eight main focuses, especially on human resource development (HRD).

“During Mr. Prabowo’s administration, there were no national strategic projects, but PHTC consisting of eight programs with a main focus on human resource development. (PSN) was not removed, it was just not exaggerated, everyone has their own characteristics,” explained Uki.

According to Uki, one of the proofs that the development of the IKN is still ongoing is the acceleration of the construction of the Nusantara Mosque, which is an important achievement in the region.

“The construction of the Nusantara Mosque is an important achievement and there is no delay, that has not happened at all,” he stressed.

On the other hand, Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation of the IKN Authority, Mohammed Ali Berawi, said that this year the construction of the Smart City Cooperation Center (SCCC) will begin. This project is funded by an Official Development Assistance (ODA) grant from the South Korean Government and will be a center of science and technology in the IKN.

“This facility will strengthen the innovation ecosystem and increase the competitiveness of human resources in the era of digital and environmentally friendly transformation,” said Mohammed Ali.

In addition, the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) at the IKN Authority office is also planned to start operating this year as part of a pilot project grant from the United States.

These projects are a strategic step to utilize digital technology, artificial intelligence, and green energy in the IKN.
