IKN Relocation is the Gateway to Equitable Development Towards a Golden Indonesia

212

cidiss.co – Jakarta, President Jokowi has repeatedly emphasized that the construction of the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, is a big leap for transformation towards advanced Indonesia. In fact, IKN Nusantara can be proof of the national identity and greatness of the Indonesian nation. So that President Jokowi’s very bold policy on the construction of the Nusantara IKN needs to be supported by all the people of Indonesia. This was conveyed by Economic Policy Observer, Saiful, S.H., during the Chat Together program on Radio Muara, Jakarta.

Saiful said that IKN will be built by initiating the smart forest city concept, where 70 percent of the area is in the form of green areas, both technology systems, transportation, irrigation, communication, public services, and others. And the construction of the new capital city is based on eight principles, namely:

  1. The principle of equality, economic opportunity for all and orientation to an equitable future, with the creation of employment opportunities
  2. The principle of ecological balance, namely maintaining the balance of nature by implementing a green zone
  3. The principle of resilience, covering food, city systems, and strong and resilient technology
  4. The principle of sustainability, where IKN Nusantara uses 100 percent of clean energy
  5. The principle of feasibility of living, people live in a safe and healthy environment
  6. The principle of Connectivity, namely being actively connected and easily accessible, by placing residents at the forefront to make it easier to walk and use public transportation
  7. Smart City Principle, building smart infrastructure to increase efficiency and innovation in realizing city aspirations
  8. The principle of diversity, with a sense of mutual cooperation and togetherness.

In line with Saiful, Academician from the University of Jakarta, Rd. Coud Dirgantoro Kesumojati, S.H., M.H, also appreciated and supported the government’s policy of moving IKN to East Kalimantan. Jakarta is considered to be too congested and the current economy is only centered on the island of Java. Therefore, the transfer of IKN is the right policy because it is expected to encourage equitable development, the economy, and the distribution of the population.

Moving capital cities is indeed a challenge, but so far countries that have moved their capitals have proven to be able to move forward. So that in getting to Indonesia Gold, Indonesia must advance first. For that, let’s support the development of the Nusantara IKN, so that the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045 can be realized.
