The actions of the terrorist separatist group (KST) have proven to make people in Papua uneasy. The group seems to be fond of destroying peace in Papua. KST itself often launches attacks on civilians, they have even burned public facilities which makes the Papuan people feel terrorized by the presence of KST.
KST again carried out brutal actions by attacking security personnel on Saturday (15/4) yesterday. This time, KST attacked the Yonif R 321/GT TNI Task Force on duty in the Mugi-Mam area, Kab. Nduga, Papua around 16.30 WIT. Related to this, Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih, Colonel Kav Herman Taryaman said that there were TNI soldiers who died in the incident. However, he could not confirm the number because communication with the team in the field was still hampered by weather and terrain.
What KST did did not get support or sympathy from the community. This is evidenced by the increasing courage of the Papuan people to report to the security forces regarding the existence of KST.
The Commander of the TNI’s Operations Implementation Command (Dankolaksops), Brigadier General Juinta Omboh Sembiring, said that people are increasingly daring to report the existence of KST to the joint team in Papua.

Sembiring said the Joint Collaboration Team of the TNI, Polri, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) and other stakeholders had succeeded in convincing the Papuan people to feel safe. In general, security developments in Papua have been relatively conducive. Only in some areas are there still disturbances of security from gangs of armed groups.
Brigadier General JO Sembiring also said he would immediately deploy security forces to areas that were not yet conducive to maintaining the safety of residents. The Joint Team also assured residents that national development in Papua would continue.
Sembiring said, so that the people are willing to develop Papua together and there will be no more security disturbances that could hinder Papua’s development, so that it is hoped that Papua will become a region that is prosperous, safe and peaceful.
He also thanked the people who had the courage to report the existence of KST. Reports from the public will be followed up by a joint team with the results of confiscating ammunition, weapons, communication equipment and documents.
The one-star general believes that the perpetrators of terror are an obstacle to development in Papua which must become a common enemy for anyone who wants Papua to be more advanced.
Previously, KST had claimed that his group had the support of the Papuan people. However, this was denied by Pdt. Jupinus Color. According to him, it is a big mistake if KST is loved by the people. Due to the fact that KST actually terrorized not only civilians, but also launched attacks on security forces.
Even the KST itself had expelled the Papuan population just because they did not want to support KST and raised a flag with the morning star logo. Of course, what KST is doing really doesn’t deserve to be called a struggle.
All forms of attacks and threats against the Papuan people actually show that KST does not like progress in Papua thanks to the implemented development policies.
This proved that ST did not get sympathy from the public, because they had been forced to fly the Morning Star flag. Meanwhile, the Papuan people who reject this coercion are still loyal to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
Papuan civil society definitely wants peace in Papua without the sound of bullets from KST’s weapons. Don’t let the beauty of Papua become a place where lives can be threatened by bullets.
The existence of KST in Papua with all its evil actions so far has certainly created an endless sense of fear for Papuans. It is not wrong for Papuans to become inflamed and express their jealousy towards their countrymen and fellow countrymen in other areas who are allowed to enjoy the dynamics of normal life without fear from the sudden attack from KST.
If all this time KST has stated that they are fighting to release Papua from the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, this action only makes people afraid, in fact civilians have become victims of violence and shootings. The struggle claims echoed by KST are simply flawed logic.
KST often hides behind human rights when the apparatus is carrying out their duties, but in reality KST also has weapons that are often used to threaten and terrorize the innocent Papuan people.
The existence of KST is like a parasite that destroys the sense of unity that has been formed. They continuously campaigned for independence but it turned out that they were only being used by the interests of a handful of people.
The atrocities committed by KST were acts of violence that were carried out beyond reason and common sense, these attacks actually proved that KST had ignored Human Rights (HAM) under the pretext of feeling persecuted and wanting to be free and live a noble life, but in reality KST actually rejected progress in Papua and actually prolong the suffering of the people.
KST has recorded serious cases, such as mass killings, theft and even arson of public facilities. If a KST member is caught, of course, he must receive severe punishment to provide a deterrent effect.
The people of Papua have the right to feel peace and tranquility, so KST must be crushed for the sake of peace and security in Papua. It’s only natural that people in Papua don’t have sympathy for KST.
