TNI, BIN, POLRI Ready to Secure G20

The TNI,  the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) and the National Police have committed to securing the G20 event, they were deployed to secure the G20 series of events. The hope is that in the continuity of the event, it will be able to reduce the possibility of criminal activities such as kidnapping or terror.

            All security institutions continue to finalize the security strategy of the G20 Summit in Bali.  It is noted that the National Police itself will deploy more than 8000 personnel to secure the series of activities of the G-20 Summit in Bali.

            Irjen Pol, Putu Jayan Danu Putra as the Chief of Police of Bali said that previously there were 6,826 police personnel prepared, but the Police Headquarters had given instructions to increase 20% of the original figure.

            Meanwhile, the TNI has conducted a simulation of terror countermeasures in Niti Mandala Renon Field, Denpasar. The simulation was carried out to show the readiness of the troops to secure a series of G20 activities.

            Maj. Gen. TNI Sonny Aprianto as Pangdam IX / Udayana explained that the simulation was part of the preparations for securing the Bali area as the location of the G20 high-level meeting which is likely to be attended by heads of state, ministers and other high-ranking officials.

            It has also emphasized the nature of the threat that is expected to arise, so that it has been anticipated from a long time ago to eliminate so that this does not happen.

            Sonny explained, later there will also be strengthening from both the TNI Headquarters and the Police Headquarters so that the area is handed over to the Udayana Regional Command and the Local Police.

            It is known that in securing the G20 Summit in Bali, Kodam IX / Udayana and the Bali Regional Police are members of the regional Task Force (SATGAS). Where there are 8000 Police personnel and 6000 TNI personnel who are members of the task force.

            In the task force structure, Pangdam IX/Udayana is responsible as the Commander of the Regional Security Task Force.

            Meanwhile, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) has ensured that there are five areas in Bali that are priority security during the peak event of the G2O Summit in Bali which will be attended by the head of state and a number of delegates on November 15-16, 2022.

            Wawan Hari Purwanto as the Spokesperson of BIN said that his party saw that there were five priority areas of security during the G20 Summit taking place in Bali, including Seminyak, Jimbaran, North Nusa Dua, South Nusa Dua and Sanur.

            The priority of security was carried out because a number of activities of President Joko Widodo with a number of heads of state were focused on the five regions. In addition, all activities of the delegation and the president will also take place there.

            In addition, Wawan explained that all exits and entrances from airports and ports, no matter how small, will be strictly guarded during the peak event of the G20 Summit.

            Starting from Ngurah Rai Airport, Padang Bai Port, Benoa Port, Gilimanuk Port to Celukan Bawang Port, including traditional small ports that have the potential to become places for criminals to enter.

            Wawan also ensures that all readiness from health,infrastructure, protocol logistics to security continues to be coordinated to obtain maximum results without any obstacles.

            He asserted that the escort during the head of state and a number of delegates present was carried out with a number of international security protocols.

            Previously, the Indonesian Navy (NAVY) stated that it would deploy 12 Warships of the Republic of Indonesia (KRI) to secure the implementation of the G20 Summit in Bali, in November 2022. The deployment of dozens of KRI aims to secure the implementation of the G20 Summit in the water sector.

            Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono said, meanwhile, 12 KRI have been prepared for the security of the G20 summit. His party also continued to finalize and report security preparations to the Commander of the TNI, General Andika Perkasa.

            In its implementation, the Commander of Koarmada II Rear Admiral TSNB Hutabarat will be trusted to be the operational control command (Kodalops) of securing the G20 Summit for the water area.

            Yudo said that Hutabarat had the task of regulating foreign warships that would enter Indonesian territory. In addition, the Navy will also regulate the water sector for the placement of KRI and foreign warships.

            The presence of these foreign warships is nothing but for the security of their heads of state who come to a countryIt has become an international agreement in which a country carrying out activities and a foreign ship that will secure its head of state in the territory of Indonesia, this is what needs to be regulated for the maritime security patrol sector.        

            Meanwhile, the Indonesian government has received assistance from China in the form of a scanning robot for security for the implementation of the G20 Bali Summit.

            The assistance was symbolically handed over by the Deputy Head of the China International Military Cooperation Office (OIMC) Major General Zhang Bao Qun to the Indonesian Ministry of Defense represented by the Indonesian Defense Attaché in Beijing Marshal I TNI Bayu Hendra Permana in Beijing.

            On behalf of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Bayu also signed the assistance agreement document with Zhang. The metal scanner in the form of a robot can later be used to secure the G20 Summit in Bali.   

            This shows that the security of the G20 Summit is really carefully prepared, the TNI, BIN and Polri have shown their commitment to maintaining the security of various sectors during the G20 Summit.
