The news about 6 FPI members who were shot during a scuffle with the police shocked the public. Because there are 2 versions circulating in cyberspace. MUI urged them to remain calm and not to make things worse. So that the community remains conducive and not easily provoked.
Habib Rizieq and FPI have always been easy targets for reporting. This time they were highlighted because there were 6 FPI members calling themselves special laskar (protector of the Habib), and lost their lives while on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road. The community was excited because the actions of the authorities were firm and structured. Moreover, this incident occurred at 00:30 in the morning.
The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) urged the public not to be emotional in responding to this incident. In the MUI Taklimat number Kep-52 / DP-MUI / XII / 2020, they asked the public to be calm about the information about the incident. And don’t make things worse. The meeting was signed by the chairman of MUI Miftachul Akhyar and Secretary of the MUI Amirsyah Tambunan.
MUI also asked the public to tabayun alias confirmation first. In that sense, if there are 2 versions of the story, from the police and the FPI, then which one is the correct one is traced. Because FPI even accused the authorities of shooting first. Whereas according to police statements, it was the FPI paramilitary who attacked first. They even carried samurai swords and homemade pistols.
In addition, MUI also asked the public to find the root of the problem and to communicate well. In this sense, in this case the public was looking for the cause of the shooting, because it was impossible for the police to shoot an innocent person. Because we live in a country of law, not a country of cowboys.
The police statement made perfect sense, because the FPI laskar was proven to have attacked with weapons. So that they can be countered with shots. The goal is to save yourself. If they lose their lives, of course it is at their own risk. Because they were reckless and acted unfairly against the police.
Society must look with a cool head. FPI said those who were guarding Habib Rizieq would first attend the family dawn recitation. Logically, dawn time in Jakarta is around 4 am. So why do they cross the highway at midnight? From this information it can be seen who lied when questioned.
MUI also asked the community to create a safe and peaceful situation. In that sense, do not easily blame the police, because they are friends of the people. They could not have carried out the shooting if they had not been caught first. Because violations like this will receive very heavy sanctions.
The public is also asked not to be easily provoked by hoaxes. Indeed, in recent days there has been fake news about the smiling body of a FPI member. So it seems that he was martyred after the incident. Even though after being traced it turned out that the person was still alive.
Hoaxes like this that heat people’s emotions and they should find out the truth. Instead of cursing the authorities. Because as ordinary people, we don’t know what actually happened in the field. Also waiting for the promise that the CCTV footage of the incident on the toll road will be broadcast to the public.
Do not be easily influenced by provocations that corner the authorities. Because hoaxes are made for that purpose. It’s easier to comment negative than positive, and fake news can inflame it even more. So it seems as if it is shown that those who were shot were innocent people, even though they were the ones who attacked first.
The community was asked by the MUI to maintain conducivity and peace. Do not fall for the incitement to side with FPI and accuse the police. Because if you are consumed by the provocation of an individual, the consequences will be fatal. We have an obligation to trust the integrity of the police and they cannot act beyond their limits.
