Commemoration of the Peak of the Bung Karno Month, Ganjar Pranowo: My Happiness is to Serve God and Country
The presidential candidate (capres) from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Ganjar Pranowo read Bung Karno’s ‘Dedication of Life’ script at the height of the Bung Karno Month commemoration at the Bung Karno Stadium (GBK), Senayan, Central Jakarta, Saturday (24 /6/2023).
The Governor of Central Java read the script in front of around 70 thousand PDIP cadres and sympathizers who filled the GBK.
“I am an ordinary human. I des not perfect. As an ordinary human being, I am not free from shortcomings and mistakes,” said Ganjar reading the Dedication of Life.
“My only happiness is in serving God, to the Motherland, to the nation,” said Ganjar, who is currently the governor of Central Java.
The next reading of the text reads, “This spirit of devotion is the philosophy of my life, and it gives wisdom and becomes a provision for life in all my life’s movements. Without this spirit of devotion alone is nothing. However, with this spirit of devotion, I can feel my life is happy and useful.”
For flashback, in 2013 President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) read the same Dedication of Life script. The reading was carried out by Jokowi ahead of his announcement by the PDIP as a presidential candidate.
As for the PDI-P, the reading of Bung Karno’s Dedication of Life speech is a sacred matter in party processions. Simultaneously with singing Indonesia Raya, then there was silence for copyright and the reading of the text of Pancasila.
It is known that a number of national elites were directly present at the peak of the Bung Karno Month commemoration at the GBK Stadium. The figure who was once called the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP, Puan Maharani could be a candidate for vice presidential candidate (cawapres) for Ganjar. Seen present was the Acting Chairperson of the United Development Party (PPP), Muhammad Mardiono and the General Chair of the National Mandate Party (PAN), Zulkifli Hasan.
