Nusa Dua, Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, said that Indonesia has an important role, together with the international community, to encourage vaccine distribution at the global level. Because it is known that there are still some people in the world who have difficulty getting access to vaccines.
“It is still encouraged how the role of Indonesia and the international community, especially the members of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) who will convene, can voice justice regarding vaccines,” said Puan when giving an IPU Press Conference with the President of the IPU and the Secretary General of the IPU at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC) , in Nusa Dua, Bali, Saturday (19/3/2022).
“It must be admitted, vaccines are one of the keys in overcoming the pandemic so that the Covid-19 pandemic can really end, one of the strategies is the distribution of vaccines in all countries in the world,” said Puan,
“Therefore, together with the IPU session, we will push forward the distribution of vaccines throughout the world, which is currently not evenly distributed. We will discuss this issue and discuss it at IPU sessions that will be held later,” said the PDIP faction politician.
Meanwhile, the Covid-19 Handling Task Force reported that 153,649,398 Indonesians had received the full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as of 12.00 WIB, Saturday (19/3/2022).
Based on data from the Ministry of Health, the number of recipients of the complete dose was obtained after experiencing the addition of 201,247 people. Furthermore, as many as 194,559,612 people have received the first dose, after the addition of 122,093 people. The third dose (booster) also experienced an increase of 91,323 people. So that the total number of residents who received the third dose was 16,096,488 people.
As is known, the Ministry of Health together with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Pandemic Team of the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) UI announced the results of the antibody serology survey of the Indonesian population against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. As a result, 86.6% of the Indonesian population has antibodies against COVID-19.
The Sero survey was conducted in November – December 2021. This means that 86.6% of the Indonesian population had immunity against COVID-19 that month. However, along with the COVID-19 vaccination, the number of residents who have immunity to COVID-19 will increase.
