PDI Perjuangan DPP Meeting: Megawati Announces Ganjar Pranowo as the 2024 Presidential Candidate
Bogor – PDIP chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri has announced the PDIP presidential candidate at the Batutulis Palace, Bogor, West Java, Friday (21/4/2023). Megawati nominated Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo as PDI Perjuangan presidential candidate.
The announcement, which was made online, was also attended by President Joko Widodo, Prananda Prabowo, Puan Maharani, Olly Dondokambey, Hasto Kristiyanto and Ganjar Pranowo.
“On the instructions of the chairman of the PDI Perjuangan, we are all invited to attend the 140th and expanded PDI Perjuangan DPP meeting,” said PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto.
The announcement of the PDIP presidential candidate was delivered at the 140th PDIP DPP meeting which also coincided with Kartini’s Day, Friday (21/4/2023).
“I deliberately chose April 21 to make an important announcement which of course I know has been awaited by all Indonesian people for a long time,” said Megawati in her speech in Bogor, Friday (21/4/2023).
Megawati in her speech determined and gave a mandate to the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, as the PDI Perjuangan presidential candidate.
“So at 13:45 by saying Bismillahirohmanirohim, determine brother Ganjar Pranowo is now the Governor of Central Java as a cadre and party officer to increase his assignment as a candidate for President of the Republic of Indonesia from the PDI Perjuangan.” he said.
On the same occasion, President Joko Widodo appreciated the decision of the chairman of the PDIP party to nominate Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate in 2024.
“I really appreciate the decision and Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri, the chairman of the PDI Perjuangan, who has just announced her decision on the presidential candidate proposed by the PDI Perjuangan, namely Mr. Ganjar Pranowo,” Jokowi said.
