Jakarta – President Jokowi appreciates and respects the decision of the Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan Megawati Soekarnoputri to appoint Ganjar Pranowo as the 2024 Presidential Candidate from the PDIP. On this occasion, President Jokowi was also present at the announcement of Ganjar as a presidential candidate at the Batu Tulis Palace, Bogor, West Java (21/4/2023).
“Pak Ganjar is a leader who is close to the people, always goes down and is very ideological. I want to emphasize that democratic national leadership succession is a must according to our Constitution,” said President Jokowi at the Batu Tulis Palace, Bogor.
He added that a leader must continue the struggle of the Indonesian people, a leader must continue the vision and mission of the nation and the programs that have been launched.
“The state ideology, Pancasila, national unity and unity as well as tolerance and togetherness must become the social foundation of the Indonesian nation. Fair and equitable people’s welfare, Indonesia-centric development must be the spirit of the national development program,” said Jokowi.
President Jokowi hopes that in the 2024 presidential election contest, contestants must have the courage to prepare program ideas and dare to contest big ideas for the nation and state.
“I believe the Indonesian people are becoming more mature in making their choices. “Hopefully the 2024 Presidential Election will run peacefully and democratically, elect a leader who will continue Indonesia’s efforts to become a developed, just and prosperous country,” said Jokowi.
