Supported by President Jokowi, Presidential Candidate Ganjar Pranowo is Ready to Bring Indonesia More Forward
Jakarta – The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, has stated that he is ready to run as a Candidate for President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI Candidate) in 2024 after PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri officially announced her name on Friday (21/4) at Bung Karno’s residence in Batu Tulis, Bogor.
Ganjar stated that this was a decision taken by the Ketum after going through a long process, and it was an honor to receive this assignment as a Party cadre.
“Besides that, of course this is not an easy task, so I would like all friends who are present, we ask for support, criticism and suggestions. This is the momentum for us to consolidate our strength and unite,” he said.
This appointment is not Ganjar’s first assignment from PDIP. Previously, Ganjar had been assigned by the party to participate in the Disaster Management Agency and the Department of Regional Autonomy, Member of the Indonesian Parliament for 2 terms.
“Until today, the Ketum gave me the task of becoming the governor of Central Java, and today you gave me a much tougher mandate, God willing, I will fight because I will become the Indonesian presidential candidate,” said Ganjar.
On the same occasion, PDIP Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri invited all Indonesian people to fight together, move at the same pace, to win the 2024 elections for our beloved Indonesia.
“Do it in a disciplined manner, unite and roll up your sleeves, clasp your hands together and win the 2024 General Election again,” said Megawati.
Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo stated that he fully supports Megawati’s decision to announce the presidential election carried by the PDI-P, namely Ganjar Pranowo.
“Pak Ganjar is a leader who is close to the people, always goes down and is very ideological,” he said.
President Jokowi also believes that the Indonesian people are becoming more mature in making their choices, so he hopes that the 2024 Presidential Election will run peacefully and democratically and a leader will be elected who can bring the country forward, just and prosperous.
“Just and equitable people’s welfare, Indonesia-centric development must be the spirit of the national development program. Indonesia’s national independence, self-sufficiency and leadership in a global society must be reflected in the attitude of leaders to fight for national interests and the spirit of the 2024 Presidential Election is the spirit of contesting big programs and ideas for the nation and the country,” said President Jokowi.
