Jakarta – Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) released the results of the latest electability survey regarding the trend of presidential candidates (Capres) in the 2024 Presidential Election. In the survey entitled “Electability Trends of Presidential Candidates”, the results clearly show that the PDI Perjuangan presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo excels above Prabowo Subianto and Anies Basweden.

SMRC Research Director, Deni Irvani via the SMRC TV Youtube channel (23/8), revealed that in the last 2 years, from May 2021 to August 2023, support for Ganjar rose from 25.5 percent to 35.9 percent, while Prabowo’s from 34 .1 percent to 33.6 percent, and Anies tends to fall from 23.5 percent to 20.4 percent.

“Prabowo tends to decline,” said SMRC Research Director Deni Irvani in an official release which was broadcast virtually, Wednesday (23/8/2023).

Deni explained that the survey population was all Indonesian citizens who had the right to vote in general elections, namely those who were 17 years of age or older, or had been married when the survey was conducted.

The basic sample of 3710 respondents was selected randomly (stratified multistage random sampling) from the population with a proportional number in each province.

“From the results of this survey it can be concluded that Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo Subianto are competing very tightly, and both of them are ahead of Anies Baswedan if elections are held when the survey is conducted,” said Deni.

SMRC also conducted a simulation of the effect of head to head popularity on the preferred presidential candidates, namely those who know Ganjar and Prabowo (the two candidates). SMRC said that if the introduction of the two prospective candidates was balanced, then Ganjar would win over Prabowo.

“Ganjar got 46.3 percent, while Prabowo got 42.5 percent, while those who didn’t know/didn’t answer 11.2 percent,” said SMRC founder Saiful Mujani.

Note that the survey has a national margin of error with an estimated +/- 1.65 percent at a 95 percent confidence level, assuming simple random sampling.

Support for the Presidential Candidate from PDI Perjuangan Ganjar Pranowo continues to flow. Various elements of society have begun to declare their support and commitment to win over this figure who is known to be very populist.

The volunteer group Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno, PS19 in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has declared support for Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election. After declaring support for Ganjar, they are committed to winning the candidate for president who is Ganjar in NTB.

Former PS19 fighter volunteer Ahmad Rozi said that the support for the Governor of Central Java was considered relevant to the vision and mission of President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) continued leadership.

“We and our friends, with the presence of three presidential candidates, agreed to support Ganjar Pranowo. Of course our choice is based on the latest national situation,” said Rozi after declaring the PS19FORGP24 fighters in East Lombok, Wednesday (23/8).
