Bali — The success of PB ESI in holding the IESF Bali 14th WEC 2022 event has been able to continue to grow rapidly the face of Indonesian esports and even have an impact on the world esports ecosystem as a whole.

On Sunday (11/12), the Indonesia Esports Summit: Bali 14th World Esports Championships 2022 was officially closed.

The closing ceremony of the event took place with great fanfare just like the opening on Friday (2/12).

The reason is, at the closing ceremony, many native Indonesian cultures were also displayed to entertain all the attendees.

Indeed, the excitement and success of the entire IESF Bali 14Th WEC 2022 procession cannot be separated from the efforts of the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PB ESI) chaired by Gen. Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan who also serves as Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) .

He has a very strong commitment to continue developing the country’s esports ecosystem, one of which is by forming the BIN Sports Association (PORBIN), which includes many sports and one of them is esports.

“To be able to continue to improve their achievements at the national level, as a form of athlete contribution, we formed the BIN Sports Association, which consists of 8 sports,” said Budi Gunawan.

According to him, all Indonesian esports athletes have a very big opportunity to continue to make the nation’s name proud even on the international stage.

“Alhamdulillah, we see a great opportunity to contribute to the name of the nation on the international stage through this sport,” added the Head of PB ESI.

Meanwhile, with PB ESI’s success in holding the world’s largest outdoor esports event, PB ESI’s Chief Executive, Komjen Pol Bambang Sunarwibowo admitted that so far the face of Indonesian esports has developed rapidly.

“The face of a new sport that is growing rapidly and is developing into an industry with great economic, social and cultural potential. New sports branches are not only able to become a forum for actualization and world-class achievements for young people from all over the nation, but also have the potential to act as a social currency for post-pandemic economic recovery,” he said.

This development is also thanks to the support of creative industry players in Indonesia so that the face of this nation’s esports is truly exposed on the international stage.

“We also see that currently the support from Indonesian creative industry players, as well as witness the beautiful panorama of Bali which will be the backdrop for the spectacular competition stages that will be held. An affirmation that this is the true face of esports,” said Bambang Sunarwibowo.

On the other hand, the President of the International Esports Federation (IESF), Vlad Marinescu also gave a very big appreciation to PB ESI as the organizer of the IESF Bali 14Th WEC 2022.

According to him, the success that was achieved by PB ESI in the event was able to develop the esports ecosystem even for all athletes around the world.

With this world championship event, all esports athletes from various countries are able to learn mutual respect for other athletes.

“The journey of esport until now has been a dream since 3 years ago and jointly it can be supported by various world sports organizations. We continue to encourage all esport athletes to uphold mutual respect, love for each other and also appreciate each other among other athletes,” explained Vlad.

In addition, Indonesia also emerged as the overall champion in the IESF Bali 14Th WEC championship. In this case, Indonesia won 3 (three) gold from the DOTA 2, eFootball and MLBB game numbers. Indonesia also won 1 bronze medal presented by the CS:GO Women’s National Team.
