WEST SUMATRA — Young people from as many as 19 regencies in West Sumatra Province (West Sumatra), all united to declare their full support for Ganjar Pranowo in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election.

A number of these young people call themselves the Ganjar Millennials of West Sumatra (GMS).

Head of GMS Pandu Putra Utama explained that the Declaration movement consisted of young people with many backgrounds, such as social activists, environmental activists and social media activists.

They have all agreed to unite in providing support for the PDI Perjuangan presidential candidate.

“So we agreed to gather and unite under the auspices of the Ganjar Millennials of West Sumatra, to support Mr. Ganjar as a future presidential candidate,” he said.

Pandu continued that the figure of Ganjar Pranowo in the eyes of the youth of West Sumatra was a person with a young soul and high tolerance and was very populist.

“We also see that Ganjar presents many programs for young people. So if Ganjar is elected president, there will be many programs for young Indonesians in the future,” he said.

Of course, it’s not without reason why Ganjar Pranowo has received a lot of support from young people in West Sumatra.

Perindo Party DPP National Spokesperson, Ike Julies Tiati revealed that the results of a recent survey from the Surabaya Survey Center (SSC) showed that the white-haired leader was indeed superior among millennial voters.

“Based on the survey, Mas Ganjar Pranowo was chosen and supported by the majority of women and millennials in East Java as President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 period,” he said.

For him, the amount of support for Ganjar from women and millennials is not a surprising result.

This is because the 54-year-old leader is known as a family man and is easy to communicate with so he really understands the needs of young people.

“In the midst of technological and information developments, Mas Ganjar Pranowo has prepared a digital education program. This certainly further convinces the public that Mas Ganjar Pranowo is a figure who understands the needs of young Indonesians,” said Ike.

For information, the results of a survey conducted by SSC did reveal that the majority of women and millennials in East Java tend to prefer Ganjar Pranowo compared to other candidate names.

SSC Senior Researcher, Ikhsan Rosidi explained that the electability of the PDI Perjuangan presidential candidate even reached more than 40 percent.

“Ganjar pranowo 41.3 percent, Prabowo Subianto 34.2 percent, Anies Baswedan 16.7 percent, 7.8 percent do not know at all,” he explained.

“Meanwhile, for the East Java millennial presidential candidate, Ganjar Pranowo is in first place with 43.3 percent, Prabowo Subianto 32.8 percent, Anies Baswedan 17.9 percent, 6.0 percent who don’t know at all,” continued Ikhsan.
