President Jokowi encounter a dilemma position in order to settle the conclict between Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and Indonesian’s Police Agency (Polri) that had lasted since the establishment candidate for the Chief of Polri, Commissioner General Budi Gunawan, alleged by KPK. Last week, Mr. Jokowi has had a series of meetings in order to ask for consideration in the settlement of this case. Publicly, Mr. Jokowi states that he will take into-consideration the pretrial hearing, after receiving Mr. Prabowo in Bogor Palace, on Thursday, January 29th.

Mr. Prabowo, Chairman of Gerindra and the most prominent figure in Red-White Coalition (KMP), has stated to public that he will support Mr. Jokowi as long as the government’s program will make people of Indonesia wealthier. Mr. Prabowo also stated that he will support Mr. Jokowi’s decision in act of determining the Chief of Polri. Mr. Prabowo didn’t urged Mr. Jokowi to induct Budi Gunawan, like his man, Desmond Mahesa, does.

Desmond, the Vice Chief of Commission III of House of Representative, ever said that he will raise the rights of interpellation if Mr. Jokowi doesn’t induct Budi Gunawan that have been approved by plenary. The interpellation issue also has been declared by the Chairman of Commission III, Aziz Shamsuddin, from Golkar. Not only parties from KMP, the parties from Indonesian Great Coalition (KIH), the coalition that supporting governance, gave Mr. Jokowi only one option: induct Budi Gunawan. Mr. Prabowo’s act that support whatever Mr. Jokowi’s decision certainly will become “a freshness air” in order to settle the issue.

After had a meeting with Mr. Prabowo in Istana Bogor, Mr. Jokowi also had a meeting with Mr. Habibie, the former President, in Istana Merdeka, Jakarta. As in Bogor, Mr. Jokowi as the host didn’t have too much words, and gave time for Mr. Habibie to give his states to public. Mr. Habibie talked at length, while Mr. Jokowi just stood and gave smile along Mr. Habibie’s speech.

In the middle of the spotlight in order to Mr. Jokowi not to be intervened by the bearer party, Mr. Habibie then gave state that comparing the party’s political legitimacy and Mr. Jokowi’s. “Now, none of the parties in the Indonesia which has more votes than 20%,” said Mr. Habibie. “But the President of Indonesia at have the support at least 51%. He was chosen to side with 100% the interest of the people” Mr. Habibie added.

Mr. Habibie also warned that political position of president in New Order era is different with now. In the past, said Mr. Habibie, the president is mandatorily MPR. Since Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the president directly elected by the people. “Do not forget that the presidential decree elected by the people directly is the laws as well,” he said. Mr. Habibie also stated that the presidential system must be respected.
