Jakarta – The arrest of several officials in connection with corruption cases recently serves as concrete evidence of President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to eradicating corruption in various sectors. The cases that have emerged show the government’s firm stance in taking action against parties that harm the state’s finances.

Political analyst Iwan Setiawan assesses that the decisive actions taken by law enforcement reflect the seriousness of President Prabowo’s government in cleaning up the country from corruption practices. One of the examples is the alleged corruption in crude palm oil (CPO) export permits, which has dragged PT Asset Pacific into being the main suspect.

“Various major cases that have harmed the country have started to surface, such as the corruption case at Pertamina and tax issues, which reaffirm that President Prabowo’s commitment to fighting corruption is very serious. Additionally, the cases involving sugar imports and gratification of tax officials are also under scrutiny,” he said.

This move is in line with the President’s instructions to ensure that there are no budget leaks and to prevent policies that harm the country’s finances.

“Prabowo can be said to have stepped in directly to prove his commitment to eradicating corruption. This should serve as a stern warning to all officials and stakeholders not to play with public money,” Iwan emphasized.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of Trias Politika Strategis, Agung Baskoro, stressed that President Prabowo’s commitment to fighting corruption is not just a discourse. The actions of the Attorney General’s Office, which led to the arrest of four senior officials from Pertamina’s subsidiaries, show that the law enforcement efforts are ongoing under President Prabowo’s leadership.

“One by one, those suspected of involvement in criminal acts of corruption are being arrested by law enforcement. The latest case, involving Pertamina, is estimated to have caused a loss to the state of up to IDR 193.7 trillion,” he revealed.

Agung also hopes that law enforcement will be carried out optimally and that the corrupt individuals will be severely punished to provide a deterrent effect. The public is also urged to continue supporting the government’s efforts in cleaning Indonesia from corruption practices.

“The fight against corruption under President Prabowo’s leadership is expected to restore public trust and strengthen clean and transparent government governance,” he concluded.

Previously, President Prabowo stated that in the first 100 days of his administration, the government successfully secured state funds amounting to IDR 300 trillion from inefficiencies and corruption. These funds were then allocated to national strategic projects, including industrial downstreaming, agriculture, and renewable energy.
