The Prabowo-Gibran administration has demonstrated its seriousness in developing the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) during the first 100 days of their leadership. The strategic steps taken not only reaffirm the continuity of this project from the previous administration but also highlight their strong commitment to achieving economic equality, even in the country’s border regions.

The continuation of this project signals a grand vision, not only to build a new government center but also to accelerate economic growth that is evenly distributed across Indonesia.

Dedek Prayudi, Spokesperson for the Presidential Communication Office, explained that Prabowo Subianto shares a vision with President Joko Widodo in ensuring that the development of IKN moves forward.

A new approach has been implemented in the funding scheme, shifting the dominance of state budgets towards private sector investment involvement. This change marks a more inclusive strategy, focusing on long-term sustainability. This move also creates opportunities for the private sector to play an active role in building more efficient and competitive infrastructure.

The government’s commitment to attracting investments has also received positive responses from both domestic and international investors. Although not widely covered, the tangible steps taken show a high level of confidence in the prospects of IKN as a new economic growth center.

As a concrete manifestation of this commitment, the accelerated development of the Nusantara Mosque in IKN has become an important symbol that has not been delayed, emphasizing that this project is progressing according to plan.

This religious facility is not just a symbol, but also evidence that the government is committed to providing inclusive social infrastructure for the people who will live and work in IKN.

In the green and digital transformation sector, Mohammed Ali Berawi, Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation of the IKN Authority, revealed that the construction of the Smart City Cooperation Center (SCCC) will soon begin.

This facility, supported by a grant from South Korea, aims to strengthen the science and technology ecosystem in IKN. In addition, the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC), which is part of a grant from the United States, will also be built soon.

These two projects mark a significant step forward in realizing the concept of a future city based on digital technology and green energy. With this infrastructure, IKN is expected to become an innovation hub that can compete with major cities worldwide in terms of efficiency, sustainability, and digital public services.

President Prabowo Subianto has also allocated a budget of IDR 48.8 trillion for the second phase of IKN development until 2029. The Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, revealed that the main priority of this phase is the construction of legislative and judicial complexes, as well as the completion of supporting infrastructure.

This strategy reflects Prabowo’s vision of creating a political capital that functions optimally and embodies a strong democratic system. With a complete governance ecosystem in place, Indonesia will have a more efficient administrative center, ready to face global challenges.

In addition, the financing scheme through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) has been prepared with a total investment value of IDR 60.93 trillion. Various infrastructure projects, including the construction of 97 apartment towers and 129 landed houses, are currently in the feasibility study phase.

Road construction and the multi-utility tunnel (MUT) spanning 138.6 km in the Core Government Area (KIPP) are also part of the plan for accelerating development, which will be financed through a similar scheme. With this approach, the government ensures that the development progresses on schedule without excessively burdening the state budget.

Besides the main infrastructure, the IKN Authority is also preparing the construction of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) as part of its commitment to green energy. Thus, the concept of IKN as a sustainable city is becoming more tangible, supported by investments that have entered the groundbreaking stage in the housing, retail, hotel, and office sectors, amounting to IDR 6.49 trillion.

This move ensures that the private sector plays an active role in accelerating development. At the same time, the project’s sustainability is balanced with the implementation of environmentally friendly concepts, allowing IKN to become a model for sustainable urban development in Indonesia.

The Prabowo-Gibran administration has proven that the IKN project is not just a political promise, but a strategic program that continues to receive full attention. The commitment to ensuring the continuity of development is strengthened by innovative financing strategies, the acceleration of infrastructure projects, and the optimization of cooperation with the private sector.

With a primary focus on developing the core government area, IKN is expected to become a symbol of transformation towards a more advanced and equitable Indonesia. The sustainability of this project will have a wide economic impact, including the opening of new job opportunities and the improvement of the quality of life for the people who will settle in the area.

In the first 100 days, the Prabowo-Gibran administration has not only ensured that development continues as planned but also emphasized a more adaptive approach to meeting long-term development needs.

With solid policies, collaboration with various stakeholders, and results-oriented leadership, IKN continues to move forward as the future center of government and economic growth for Indonesia.

The success in maintaining the continuity of IKN’s development is a tangible proof that the current administration has a clear direction and an effective strategy for building a more prosperous and competitive future for Indonesia. (*)
