Security forces ranging from the TNI, Polri, to the State Intelligence Agency continue to be committed to eradicating separatist gangs in Papua. The firm action of the security forces in the movement of the Free Papua Organization (OPM) which aims to bring peace to the area nicknamed Bumi Cenderawasih clearly deserves very high appreciation.The reason is, without knowing the word tired, the security forces continue to take firm action against whatever and whatever the actions of the OPM which have often spread threats and terror in the Land of Papua.Not half-hearted, even threats and terror often target indigenous Papuan civilians (OAP), causing innocent citizens to become victims and even lose their lives.After the OPM shot at civilians, security forces from the Indonesian National Army (TNI) continued to chase the separatist gang.According to information, the perpetrators of the shooting and burning of residents were from the Free Papua Organization group led by Undius Kogoya, who had fled from the scene of the incident in the East Paniai District to Bibida District.Even though they had fled, the pursuit operation did not immediately stop. The security forces continued to move until they succeeded in seizing the Bibida District area which had been OPM’s area to continue to disrupt the security and conduciveness of the local community.In the face of various disturbances from the Free Papua Organization, community leaders representing the voices of the Bibida residents then expressed their full support for the OPM’s pursuit operations and firm action.On Monday 17 June 2024, the Commander of Joint Regional Command (Kogabwilhan) III, Lieutenant General (Ltjen) TNI Richard Tampubolon then ordered Koops Habema along with Dankolakops and Commander of the Nanggala Kopassus Troop to continue the pursuit operation.As a result, the operation produced good results and the security forces managed to shoot 2 OPM people, one of whom had a confirmed identity, namely Danis Murib. Danis Murib himself is a TNI deserter who most recently held the rank of Second Soldier (Prada) as a member of the Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) 527/Baladibya Yudha Kodam V/Brawijaya who was carrying out military operations in Papua.The success of the security forces in shooting Danis Murib is clear evidence of the professionalism of soldiers in enforcing the law as fairly and firmly as possible in Indonesia, especially for anyone affiliated with the OPM.Apart from that, according to the Commander of Kogabwilhan III, Lt. Gen. TNI Richard Tampubolon, the success of the pursuit operation and the firm action also added to the list of names of dead Free Papua Organization figures and reduced the strength of their personnel.
Meanwhile, all residents in Dsirtik Bibida, Paniai Regency, Central Papua fully support the security forces’ firm action in crushing the Free Papua Organization after shooting dead a public transportation driver who was a civilian there.Commander of the Habema Koops Media Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt. Col.) Arh Yogi Nugroho, said that community leaders conveyed their support for the security forces in supporting the success of the OPM crackdown operation.Without exception, all people in Papua do not accept the presence of terrorist gangs enemies of the country in their territory, including in Bibida. Moreover, the OPM’s actions so far have continued to spread terror by seizing agricultural products and shooting dead civilians.Because all this time they have continued to receive various kinds of inhumane actions by the OPM which often and very clearly intimidate community members, so they really want and hope that their area will be safe from all forms of threats and separatist disturbances.Therefore, the security forces immediately took action by taking over the Bibida District which the OPM had previously controlled. Joint security forces succeeded in seizing the area.On the other hand, Military Observer Anton Aliabbas expressed very high appreciation for the firm attitude of the security forces when responding to all the actions of the Free Papua Organization.So far, the security forces have taken a step forward, including the government, in handling cases of armed violence which often occur in Papua.Moreover, the behavior of the gang is full of very real acts of separatism. They have continued to intensify terror and acts of murder against the community, including the security forces themselves.In fact, OPM members also raped teachers and workers there.
