Appreciation for the Successful Security Operations at the 19th PUIC Conference in Jakarta

Jakarta — The success of Indonesian security forces in ensuring the smooth and secure conduct of the 19th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) stands as a clear testament to the dedication, professionalism, and synergy of all involved security elements. The public is encouraged to extend high appreciation to the security personnel who effectively safeguarded the PUIC conference held at the House of Representatives (DPR RI) complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta.
A total of 2,818 joint personnel were deployed to secure this high-level parliamentary forum involving member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Police Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, stated that security measures were not only concentrated at the main venue but also extended to several hotels accommodating the delegates.
“Personnel were drawn from various units, including 108 from the National Police Headquarters, 200 from the Mobile Brigade Corps (Korbrimob), 38 from the Jakarta Provincial Government, and 2,217 from the Regional Task Force (Satgasda),” said Ade Ary. He also emphasized the crucial role of public cooperation in maintaining a safe and conducive security environment throughout the event.
As part of preventive measures, the Bomb Squad (Gegana) unit of the Mobile Brigade of Jakarta Police conducted an early morning sweep of the Nusantara Building. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team carried out thorough inspections at several key locations using advanced explosive detection equipment. The sterilization process proceeded safely with no suspicious findings.
Commander of the Jakarta Police Mobile Brigade, Police Commissioner Henik Maryanto, reiterated that the involvement of his unit represents a concrete form of the institution’s commitment to supporting national security and enhancing Indonesia’s international image. “We are determined to ensure that this international event runs safely and smoothly, demonstrating Indonesia’s preparedness and professionalism to the world,” he stated.
The 19th PUIC session, held from 12 to 15 May 2025, carried the theme “Good Governance and Strong Institutions as Pillars of Resilience” and was attended by 96 delegates from 19 member countries and nine observer organizations. President Prabowo Subianto officially opened the session, reaffirming Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary cooperation in the Islamic world.
This successful security operation reflects the strong synergy between the security apparatus, government institutions, and the public. It is hoped that this momentum will further strengthen international trust in Indonesia’s capability as a host of major global forums in the future.
