Appreciation of President Prabowo’s Commitment to Eradicating Corruption in Indonesia

JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto’s firm steps in eradicating corruption in Indonesia have received widespread appreciation from various elements of society. Within six months of his leadership, hundreds of trillions of rupiah of state funds have been saved, becoming real evidence of President Prabowo’s seriousness in fighting crimes that are eroding the very foundations of this nation.

President Prabowo emphasized his determination to fight corruption without discrimination, the government is serious about protecting law enforcement officers from intimidation.

“I am 73 years old. I just want to leave a good name. I will carry out my duties. I will uphold justice. I will fight all perpetrators of corruption without discrimination,” President Prabowo said.

The President also expressed his concern over threats to law enforcers who dare to uncover major cases. However, he assured that the government will not be afraid.

“I know there are law enforcers who are being threatened. But I am not afraid. We will continue to uncover corruption cases, almost every day,” he said.

The General Chairperson of the Red and White Solidarity (Solmet), Silfester Matutina, appreciated President Prabowo’s commitment to maintaining the security and welfare of the community.

“We strongly support and appreciate President Prabowo’s firm and measured steps. His three breakthroughs, namely the formation of the Anti-Phucking Task Force, security for the Prosecutor’s Office, and the push for the Asset Confiscation Law to be passed immediately, are monumental steps towards a clean, just, and safe Indonesia,” said Silfester.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI), Boyamin Saiman, stated that the President’s statement was a form of moral support that was greatly needed by law enforcers.

“This is a great statement. Thank you to the President for his enthusiasm and support for law enforcement,” he said.

The Executive Director of the National Political and Economic Policy Agency (PKPEN), Bambang Widjanarko Setio, said the same thing. He considered President Prabowo’s enthusiasm in eradicating corruption as a real manifestation of siding with the people.

“The President shows the peak of anger towards corruption. The Attorney General’s Office and the Corruption Eradication Commission are now moving quickly to catch big corruptors,” Bambang said.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of Siaga 98, Hasanuddin, said that President Prabowo’s commitment was a continuation of the spirit of the 1998 reforms.

“Eradicating corruption must continue to be a priority agenda. President Prabowo provides a real example and courage in responding to threats against law enforcement,” he said.
