Appreciation of President Prabowo’s Commitment to Eradicating Corruption in Indonesia

Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto delivered a number of important statements regarding the corruption eradication agenda in his speech at the commemoration of International Workers’ Day (May Day) 2025 which was held at Monas Field, Central Jakarta, last Thursday (1/5).
On that occasion, the President emphasized his commitment to eradicating the culture of corruption in Indonesia.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the government that I lead is determined to try to eliminate corruption from the land of Indonesia,” he said in a loud voice.
The President acknowledged that the fight against corruption is not an easy job.
He said that he often received taunts and threats for the bold steps he took.
“I know that this is not an easy job, this is a hard job. I am mocked every day, threatened every day,” Prabowo said.
However, President Prabowo emphasized that he would not step down and was ready to sacrifice everything for the nation.
“But I am not afraid. I have said, I am willing, I am ready, I am willing to die for my nation and people,” he stressed.
The President also pushed for the ratification of the Asset Confiscation Bill. He considered that eradicating corruption must be accompanied by the return of state losses.
“In the context of eradicating corruption, I support the asset confiscation law, I support it, it’s okay if you steal and don’t want to return the assets,” he said.
At the end of his speech, Prabowo reiterated his determination to uphold the law and protect the country’s wealth so that it can be enjoyed by all Indonesian people.
“I have said many times, I will enforce the law against those who break the law, against those who steal the country’s wealth, I will take action,” the President stressed.
Supporting the President’s statement, the Mujadalah Kiai Kampung (MKK) organization expressed its appreciation for Prabowo’s firmness in eradicating corruption.
MKK founder Najib Salim Atamimi said that President Prabowo’s speech was good news for the nation.
“This is an extraordinary commitment from President Prabowo. The culture of corruption must be immediately eliminated, eradicated from Indonesia,” said Najib.
Najib stressed that all parties, especially law enforcement agencies, must support the President’s steps. He also emphasized the importance of collective awareness of all Indonesians in fighting corruption.
“To fix this nation, it is not only the government and the President’s job. But all Indonesian people also have an obligation,” Najib concluded. (_)
