Becoming a WWF Communications Ambassador, Cinta Laura Invites the Young Generation to Care About the Water Crisis
Bali – 10th World Water Forum (WWF) Communications Ambassador Cinta Laura invites the younger generation to care more about water and environmental issues.
“I personally believe that we don’t need to be a specialist or engineer or environmental scientist to really understand what is happening to our world now,” he said at the WWF Media Center, Monday (20/5)
He admits that so far he is not an expert in the environmental field, but is someone who really cares about the quality of human life
The WWF Communications Ambassador understands that there is a large portion of society that still prioritizes basic needs in life before thinking about the environment.
However, Cinta still asks everyone to have the same awareness of environmental issues
“How can we instill this sense of caring. Because if there is no caring, no one will take action. “If there is no action, no real change will occur,” he said.
As the 10th WWF Ambassador, added Cinta Laura, she has the task of socializing the importance of awareness of the water crisis to society at large, especially young people.
“Because they are the ones who can change their habits, so that we can achieve our goals in the next 20 years” Sambung Cinta
Moreover, Indonesia has a Blue economy road map which will be implemented from 2025 to 2045. These programs are generally also related to a sustainable economy which generally uses water sources.
In the same place, World Cleanupday Indonesia leader Andy Bahari described the importance of waste management and water conservation.
He explained that the waste problem has become a common problem, not only in Indonesia but also in the world.
“Trash is found everywhere, polluting our water which should be a source of life for humans and other living creatures,” explained Andy
Next, Andy invited the younger generation to work together to care about environmental issues because these issues relate to the future.
He gave the example that in recent times Southeast Asia has been hit by a heat wave.
“There is no need to wait for 2050, but we have reached the barometer for global warming this year,” he explained.
For this reason, the leader of World Cleanupday Indonesia also invites the participation of the younger generation to be involved and care about environmental issues.
