Beware of Hoaxes, Government Guarantees the Quality of Genuine Fuel
JAKARTA – The public should be more vigilant against hoaxes and disinformation related to the quality of fuel oil (BBM) in circulation.
PT Pertamina (Persero) emphasized that the BBM sold to the public is of original quality and in accordance with the standards set by the government.
VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, ensured that the BBM marketed is not the result of mixing or blending Pertalite (RON 90) into Pertamax (RON 92).
He emphasized that the issue is a form of disinformation that does not correspond to the facts on the ground.
“So for the quality of BBM, we ensure that what is sold to the public is in accordance with the specifications determined by the Director General of Oil and Gas. RON 92 means Pertamax, RON 90 means Pertalite,” said Fadjar at the DPR RI Building.
Fadjar explained that every BBM production has been tested by Lemigas to ensure its quality.
He added that the Attorney General’s Office does not have a problem with the existence of mixing, but rather the issue of BBM imports.
Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Heppy Wulansari, also emphasized that the fuel products entering the Pertamina terminal are in accordance with the specifications set by the government.
“The products entering the Pertamina fuel terminal are finished products that are in accordance with their respective RON. The specifications distributed to the public from the beginning of product receipt at the Pertamina terminal are in accordance with government regulations,” said Heppy.
In line with that, the Acting Daily Task Force (PTH) of the President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, ensured that there was no process of changing the octane number (RON) in the products received.
“We received it in the form of RON 90 and RON 92, not in the form of other RON products. So for Pertalite and Pertamax obtained from both domestic and foreign refineries, they are already in the form of RON according to their specifications,” explained Ega.
President Prabowo also responded to the case by emphasizing that the government would clean up and enforce regulations in the oil governance sector in Indonesia.
“We are still taking care of everything, we will clean it up, we will enforce it, we will defend the interests of the people,” Prabowo emphasized. With the affirmation from various related parties, the public should not easily believe in misleading narratives and continue to use BBM calmly. (*)
