Jakarta – The public is urged to be more vigilant and not easily influenced by the provocative narrative echoed through the action titled “Dark Indonesia”. The narrative is considered a systematic effort to create psychological unrest and chaos that could disrupt national stability.

Narratives such as ‘Dark Indonesia’ are often raised to form pessimistic perceptions, even though the facts on the ground actually show a safe and controlled national situation. In general, the national condition is in a safe and conducive situation, both in terms of economy, social, and politics.

Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that national inflation is still under control in the range of 1.5% to 3.5%. The First Expert Statistician of BPS Nunukan Regency, Ramadhan Wafid Mustafa, said this condition is strong evidence that people’s purchasing power remains stable.

“Controlled inflation shows that there is no significant economic turmoil. Therefore, the narrative of ‘Dark Indonesia’ is very much at odds with our current economic reality,” Ramadhan explained.

He also reminded that the spread of dark narratives not only misleads public opinion, but also has the potential to disrupt ongoing national development. According to him, all elements of the nation need to support a positive socio-economic climate in order to maintain the continuity of development.

Similar concerns were expressed by the Deputy Minister of Religion, Dr. Romo HR Muhammad Syafi’i, who assessed that the term “Dark Indonesia” was being used as a psychological weapon to divide national unity.

“This action must be faced with collective vigilance. The community, especially the younger generation, must be at the forefront of maintaining the spirit of unity and not be provoked by divisive doctrines,” said Romo.

He added that the demonstrations driven by the narrative were not based on facts, considering that Indonesia was actually showing progress in various strategic sectors such as education, investment, and infrastructure development.

The public is urged to remain calm and rational in responding to the information circulating. The government continues to prioritize openness of information and dialogue between elements to ensure national stability is maintained. Do not let the fabricated fear-filled narrative damage public trust in the nation’s progress.
