Bold and Decisive in Combating Narcotics, Public Appreciation as Real Evidence of the Prabowo-Gibran Administration’s 100-Day Performance

JAKARTA — The decisive steps taken by the Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration in combating the circulation of narcotics have received widespread praise from the public.
The various policies implemented in the first 100 days of the administration show a tangible commitment to protecting the younger generation from the dangers of narcotics.
Chairperson of the Indonesian Millennial Guard, Cici Nurain Pandey, views these policies as proof of the government’s seriousness in tackling narcotics.
“Regarding the decisive steps taken by the Prabowo-Gibran government to combat the circulation of narcotics, it is a very positive effort and deserves our appreciation,” she said.
“For me, this policy demonstrates that the government has a strong commitment to protect the younger generation from the harmful influence of narcotics,” Cici added.
She further emphasized that the narcotics threat not only damages physical and mental health but also threatens the future of the next generation.
“With this policy, the government is laying an important foundation to save the great potential of the next generation,” she said.
Cici also highlighted the humanist approach in the fight against narcotics, particularly for users who are seen as victims.
“This humanist approach is crucial because drug users are victims that we should save, not punish without providing a solution,” she explained.
“Rehabilitation gives them the opportunity to recover and return to being productive members of society,” she added.
Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Police Commissioner General Marthinus Hukom, emphasized that for the first time, narcotics has become a central issue in the government’s priority program.
“As the head of BNN, I am very grateful that for the first time, a national leader has placed the issue of narcotics as a central issue in the priority agenda,” Marthinus said.
He noted that the seventh point in Asta Cita, which focuses on the prevention and eradication of both corruption and narcotics, reflects the government’s strong attention to this issue.
“Alongside the social conditions that make the narcotics problem increasingly complicated,” he said.
National Police Chief General Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, in his report to President Prabowo Subianto, outlined the Police’s success in combating narcotics.
“With the achievement of uncovering 3,608 cases involving 3,965 suspects and evidence worth Rp2.88 trillion, we have saved more than 10 million lives from the dangers of narcotics abuse,” General Sigit stated.
This success underscores the Prabowo-Gibran administration’s commitment to protecting public safety from narcotics threats.
The widespread appreciation from various sectors is clear evidence that the steps taken have made a significant impact on Indonesia.
