Bung Karno Month’s Peak Event, Momentum to Choose Leaders Who are Brave, Firm and Visionary
JAKARTA – The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) held the 2023 Bung Karno Month peak event, at the Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK), Jakarta, Saturday, June 24 2023. This year’s Bung Karno Month peak event has the theme ‘United Fist for Indonesia Raya’.
The event was also attended by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, general chairman of the party, and heads of regions throughout Indonesia from PDIP. The political party leaders present are the political parties that will cooperate with PDIP in the upcoming 2024 elections. They are the United Development Party (PPP), Perindo Party, Hanura Party, Golkar Party, National Mandate Party (PAN), and the National Awakening Party (PKB).
The chairman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani said that every June is commemorated as the month of Bung Karno and this month there are also 3 events. Namely, June 1, the birthday of Pancasila, June 6, Bung Karno’s birthday, and June 21, 1970, Bung Karno’s death. Until the end of his life, Bung Karno always gave completely as in the Dedication of Life.
In addition, the General Chairperson of the PDIP, Megawati, had appointed Ganjar Pranowo as the PDIP presidential candidate. Maintain Solidity under the command of Megawati Soekarno Putri. We are fighting to win PDIP and Ganjar Pranowo as President.
“We want to continue the development relay and the succession of leadership comes from PDIP. In April 2023, Ketum Megawati confirmed that she had chosen Ganjar. That’s why we are here to fight to win Ganjar and PDIP,” Puan added.
In the same place, PDIP Bacapres Ganjar Pranowo said the Dedication of life that was conveyed teaches us to serve the nation and state, not serve individuals or groups.
“We are here to win. It is hoped that PDIP’s victory will not only be respected in Indonesia but also in the world like President Jokowi,” said Ganjar.
President Jokowi has created great infrastructure, IKN which has not only moved places and capital cities, but has opened a mindset to become a developed country. Including the downstream industry, which in the end Indonesia is taken into account by the world.
“That’s also what we have to maintain, we continue. However, it can’t be done if we can’t win and don’t work together,” concluded Ganjar.
The chairman of the PDIP, Megawati Soekarno Putri, said that today was the peak of the Bung Karno month commemoration. For the party, this is a very decisive month, not only for the life of the PDIP, but also for the life of the nation and state.
“Today is the highlight of Bung Karno’s month of commemoration. So that you remember history, remember the Red Coat. Bung Karno’s way of thinking is also worldwide. In Bung Karno’s hands, politics moved downwards, namely to the grassroots or the people. It means taking sides with the people,” said Megawati.
When delivering his remarks, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that Bung Karno was not only the nation’s proclaimer but also the founder of nationalism, government and progress of Indonesia. Bung Karno has also directed us to become a lighthouse, a great nation in economics and politics.
“Not only as the nation’s proclaimer, Bung Karno also laid the foundation for Indonesia’s nationality and progress. He has also directed us to become a beacon, a great nation in economics and politics,” said President Jokowi.
