Jakarta – The spirit of unity was once again emphasized by national figures in the talk show “Sapa Indonesia Malam”titled “Maintain Unity for a Glorious Indonesia.” A number of clerics and academics voiced the importance of fostering optimism and rejecting pessimistic narratives to create a better future for Indonesia under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto.
The Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Dr. KH. Marsudi Syuhud, stated that the government under President Prabowo has prioritized an optimistic approach in managing national resources. According to him, balancing needs and realities is key to fostering hope and the spirit of nation-building.
“The positive narratives built by the government are crucial because if the public is continuously fed with narratives of fear and pessimism, the spirit of development could be disrupted. People should not be easily provoked by dark narratives, but should instead see opportunities and think positively about the future. If the mindset is positive, the outcome will also be positive. Indonesia will become a stronger nation,” emphasized KH. Marsudi.
He also urged the public not to be swayed by the “Indonesia Dark” narrative, which could potentially lead to apathy and damage social order. On the contrary, the public must support various government efforts to maintain stability and ensure sustainable national development.
Meanwhile, political communication expert from the University of Indonesia, Dr. Aditya Perdana, assessed President Prabowo’s ability to unite various political forces as a strategic step that deserves appreciation. This move is seen as accelerating development and strengthening governmental stability in the long term.
“President Prabowo has shown openness to criticism and input from various circles. This reflects his commitment to a healthy deliberative democracy. Amid global and domestic challenges, unity and togetherness among all elements of the nation are the main forces in maintaining the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia,” explained Dr. Aditya.
He also added that national figures should continue to actively voice the importance of maintaining social harmony, preventing polarization, and strengthening the spirit of nationalism as the foundation for Indonesia’s progress.
