Papua – The economic improvement of the Papuan people continues to this day, this is due to the cooperation of the youth assisted by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) and also the Inspiring Young Papuans (PMI) who are considered capable of facilitating local farmers.

PMI coordinator, Neil Leonardo Aiwoy explained that there had been a program to develop regional farmers in Papua.

According to him, the program was running thanks to very intense cooperation from various parties, including PMI and full support from BIN.

“This program runs on very intense cooperation from PMI, youth, mothers, and fathers who are involved in this program. And of course this program is also fully supported by BIN,” said Neil.

For information, BIN and PMI have provided guidance to local farmers so that they can manage corn fields planted on land owned by indigenous peoples themselves.

Furthermore, Neil admitted that his party had prepared several products derived from corn to be managed by the community.

The purpose of the coordination between BIN and PMI is to facilitate the community so they can manage abandoned land and also to increase economic value in the community.

“We have prepared several products derived from corn downstream. We from PMI, accompanied by BIN, only facilitate the management of this idle land so that we can add economic value to the community,” said Neil.

For the various efforts and strong commitment shown concretely by BIN and PMI, a local corn farmer, Mama Agustina Marwei, said she was very happy.

The reason is that so far all the attention in the form of guidance to increase the welfare of BIN and PMI for the community is very meaningful and useful.

“We are happy to be working on our own land. Thank you BIN and PMI for paying attention to us,” said Mama Agustina.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of the Papua Province, M. Ridwan Ruusukan also expressed his great appreciation to BIN and PMI.

According to him, Inspiring Young Papuans have done their best so far. In fact, he also encouraged everyone to participate.

M. Ridwan also emphasized his strong commitment to continue to fully support all programs and activities pursued by BIN and PMI.

“PMI has done well, let’s participate. Papua Provincial Government will fully support. Thank you also for the support so far, so that this activity can run well, “he said.

The same thing was also conveyed, Kukuh Saptoyudo Head of the Agriculture and Food Security Service, Manokwari Regency appreciated PMI’s efforts to revive the empowerment of pigs in Kab. Manokwari through development on a farm owned by Albert Burwos.

Previously, on March 20 2021, it was recorded that around 1,550 pigs died in Manokwari Regency due to the African Swine Fever Virus, which resulted in a paralysis of the pig market even though the demand for pigs was very high, including from outside the area, such as Kab. Nabire, Kab. Arfak Mountains and so on.

In addition, pigs are a leading commodity in Manokwari Regency because they are used in traditional events, religious activities, thanksgiving births, weddings and even death events, so pig development must continue in Manokwari Regency.
