‘Dark Indonesia’ Considered Not Objective, Young Generation Must Remain Rational

Jakarta — The pessimistic narrative titled “Dark Indonesia” that has recently been widely echoed in the public space is considered not based on objective grounds. The General Chairperson of the Central Board of Tunas Indonesia Raya (PP TIDAR), Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo, said that the narrative was deliberately fried by groups who do not like the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto.

“In my opinion, the Dark Indonesia narrative is a narrative that was indeed launched and fueled by parties who may not like the leadership of Mr. Prabowo Subianto,” said Saraswati.

She considered that the use of the narrative only worsened the situation in the midst of the government’s transition period which is focusing on building the foundation of long-term development. Saraswati, who is familiarly called Sara, invited the younger generation to continue to think critically but rationally, and not to be easily fooled by provocations that are not productive for the progress of the nation.

Sara realized that the budget efficiency policy currently being implemented by the government has indeed caused discomfort for some groups. However, she emphasized that the policy was intended to close various budget leaks that have been eroding the effectiveness of government programs.

“Moreover, with such a large budget efficiency, but what is it for? Closing the leaks that have occurred so far, which are inefficient and ineffective,” he said.

According to him, the strategic decision taken by President Prabowo has been through careful consideration involving economic experts. These steps are believed to be the path to achieving the grand vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.

Sara also emphasized that various priority programs such as food security, development of the agro sector, housing development, and free nutritious meal programs not only answer the basic needs of the community, but also open up broad job opportunities for the younger generation.

“We want to see the promised job opportunities definitely happen, through food security, the agro sector, housing, and free nutritious meal programs,” he said optimistically.

For that reason, Sara appealed to the younger generation not to get caught up in dark, misleading narratives. Instead, she encouraged the youth to continue to actively contribute according to their respective capacities to drive national growth.

“So don’t be sad, don’t worry, don’t be anxious. Let’s do our part and let’s trust Mr. Prabowo for the macro economy,” he concluded.
