DPR Strengthens Indonesia’s Image through 19th PUIC Conference
Jakarta – The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) continues to demonstrate its commitment to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and Indonesia’s image in the international arena through active participation in the Conference of the Union of Parliaments of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC).
Chairman of the DPR RI Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP), Mardani Ali Sera, explained that the holding of the 19th PUIC Conference is not only a moment of reflection, but also an opportunity to renew Indonesia’s commitment to the principles of peace, justice, human rights, and economic development.

DPR Secretary General, Indra Iskandar, also emphasized the importance of this conference as a forum to demonstrate Indonesia’s ability to organize large-scale international events, while strengthening Indonesia’s position in the eyes of the international world.
“This forum is not only an agenda for parliamentary diplomacy, but also brings Indonesia’s good name and credibility as a host of large-scale international events,” said Indra.
The main focus of the conference was strengthening good governance and institutions as pillars of resilience, an increasingly relevant issue given the geopolitical challenges, humanitarian crises, and global pressures on the Islamic world. Indra also emphasized the importance of cross-agency cooperation to ensure the smooth running of the entire series of events.
“Synergy between agencies is very important so that the entire series of activities run smoothly and reflect a good image of Indonesia in the eyes of the international world,” continued Indra.
Furthermore, Indra emphasized that the 19th PUIC Conference is part of the ongoing efforts of the DPR RI BKSAP to strengthen Indonesia’s parliamentary diplomacy at the international level. He added that solid cooperation between Islamic countries will be a new force in fighting for global justice.

The statement reflects the determination of the DPR RI to make parliamentary diplomacy a strategic tool in expanding Indonesia’s positive influence at the international level. In addition to the Palestinian issue, the DPR also emphasized the importance of concrete cooperation in the fields of economics, empowering youth and women, and overcoming Islamophobia.
By participating in the 19th PUIC Conference, Indonesia seeks to strengthen its role in building consensus among Islamic countries and championing common interests through constructive and inclusive diplomacy. –
