Jakarta – As the election for the Chairperson of the Universitas Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) draws near, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini has emerged as a prominent figure embodying progressive, inclusive, and transformative leadership.

With a long-standing track record in academia, social initiatives, and organizational leadership, Dr. Dewi has laid out her vision to transform ILUNI UI into a dynamic, empowered institution—capable of adapting to the times and addressing the needs of alumni across generations.

She emphasized that strengthening ILUNI UI’s role must begin with transparent governance, participatory programs, and enhanced alumni networks both within and beyond Indonesia. Her vision reflects a deep commitment to making ILUNI UI not just responsive to contemporary issues, but also resilient in facing future national challenges.

“ILUNI UI is not merely a place for nostalgia; it must become a strategic force that contributes meaningfully to national and humanitarian development,” said Dr. Dewi during an open dialogue with alumni from various faculties in Depok, West Java.

Wawan Mulyawan, Chairperson of ILUNI FKUI (Faculty of Medicine), stated that the next ILUNI UI leader must be someone capable of bridging the spirit of unity with tangible actions that benefit all members.

“The next ILUNI UI leader must connect the spirit of togetherness with real impact. Dr. Dewi has both the track record and the capacity to do so,” said Wawan.

Throughout the campaign period, Dr. Dewi has actively engaged in open dialogues across cities like Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, and Makassar. In every discussion, topics such as empowering young alumni, digitalizing services, supporting alumni MSMEs, and fostering cross-campus collaboration have taken center stage. The public response to her open and egalitarian approach has been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting strong enthusiasm from diverse alumni communities.

Meanwhile, Yunadi Ramlan, Chair of the 2025 ILUNI UI Election Organizing Committee, announced that out of 16 applicants, seven candidates had passed the verification stage and are now eligible to campaign. This high level of interest indicates a growing participatory spirit among alumni eager to help shape ILUNI UI’s future leadership.

“This year’s alumni enthusiasm is truly extraordinary, reaching the highest point in the election’s history. Of the 16 registrants, seven candidates have passed verification and are ready to campaign,” explained Yunadi.

The Direct Election (Pemila) for ILUNI UI’s Chairperson for the 2025–2028 period will take place on August 23–24, 2025, featuring the seven officially verified candidates. This election marks an important moment for all UI alumni to actively take part in shaping the organization’s direction through an open and inclusive democratic process.
