Dr. Dewi Puspitorini Promotes Collaborative Leadership for the Future of the UI Alumni Association
Jakarta — The election of the 2025 General Chair of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) is a crucial moment for the future of the organization that represents alumni from across generations and disciplines.
At this event, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini presented her vision of inclusive and collaborative leadership as a response to the challenges of the times.
Carrying the tagline “U&I Guyub, U and I become Us”, Dr. Dewi projects ALUNI UI as a united, progressive, and inclusive forum, with real contributions to alumni, alma mater, and the nation towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
“The UI Alumni Association must be a big home for all alumni, a place to exchange ideas, grow together, and make real contributions,” said Dr. Dewi.
This vision is realized in five strategic missions, including the total digitalization of the ILUNI system, strengthening the global alumni network, sustainable empowerment for alumni, especially in welfare and health, contributing to a healthier Indonesia, and empowering women starting from the UI alumni environment.
“UI has shaped my personality and character, and now it’s time for me to give back. I believe the strength of UI alumni lies in collaboration across faculties, generations, and professions,” he added.
Support for Dr. Dewi has poured in from various parties. Dr. Wawan Mulyawan, Chairman of the Indonesian National Student Association (ALUNI) of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, called her a unifying figure.
“He has a vision and experience that are relevant to the needs of today’s alumni organizations,” said Wawan.
Dr. Dewi’s real-life role was evident during the Cianjur earthquake in 2022. Together with Teams 1 and 2 of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (IFKUI), she mobilized medical assistance in the field. Orthopedic and anesthesiology specialists performed surgeries at Bhayangkara Cianjur Hospital, while a team of general practitioners provided medical services in refugee camps.
This democratic election is expected to strengthen the unity of the UI family. With collaborative leadership, Dr. Dewi offers a future for the UI Alumni Association that is progressive, inclusive, and has a broad impact on alumni and the nation.*
