Jakarta – The election for the Chairperson of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) for the 2025–2028 period will be marked by healthy competition, with hopes for a new, more progressive direction. One strong candidate, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini, SpP, MARS, has emerged with a bold vision of making ILUNI UI a driving force for national progress by strengthening the role of alumni across generations and sectors.

“The UI Alumni Association must be a big home for all alumni, a place to exchange ideas, grow together, and make real contributions,” said Dewi.

He is committed to building an integrated digital alumni ecosystem through the UI Connect platform to expand connectivity between alumni across regions and fields, so that real collaboration can be realized in various national development programs.

“With UI Connect, we want to create an inclusive space for participation, bringing together big ideas and a strong network of alumni across various sectors, from government, business, academia, and the community,” he explained.

The Secretary-General of ILUNI UI, Ahmad Fitrianto, welcomed the initiative. “ILUNI UI cannot operate alone. Collaboration with the Indonesian State University Alumni Association (HIMPUNI) and the government is crucial, especially in promoting food self-sufficiency, digital innovation, and improving public welfare,” Ahmad said.

Dewi has five main missions: total digitization of the ILUNI system, strengthening the global alumni network, sustainable alumni empowerment programs, real contributions to a healthier and more prosperous Indonesia, and empowerment programs for Indonesian women. “Gender equality is integral to organizational progress. It’s time for women to be given greater leadership space,” she emphasized.

Dewi’s social impact is a significant asset. On November 26, 2022, she personally led the first donation distribution for the Cianjur earthquake victims, along with the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (UI). The aid was distributed with the support of numerous parties, including the participation of medical alumni and students of the Faculty.

“UI alumni are spread across the country and the world. This is our strength. If united in a spirit of mutual cooperation and real contribution, the UI Alumni Association can be a vital pillar in realizing a just, advanced, and globally competitive Indonesia,” Dewi concluded.*
